If you believe the bra is an instrument of torture and can't wait to take it off as soon as you get home, maybe you don't use the right one or you wear it wrong. Read this article to avoid any discomfort and make your breasts look their best.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Choose the Right Bra
Step 1. There are obvious signs to tell if your bra is the wrong size for you
Believe it or not, most women have this problem, but they don't know it. A bra of the wrong size is uncomfortable to wear and keep on. Here's how to tell if it's time to go to the lingerie store:
- The breast protrudes from the cups.
- The straps leave marks on the skin.
- The band leaves marks on the skin.
- The bra is too tight and you find it hard to breathe.
- The bra is too loose and the straps fall out all the time, even if you adjust them.
- You can easily insert two fingers between your skin and the bra band.
Step 2. Get a custom one, even if you are ashamed to go to the mall and try several
Do not be shy. Go to a lingerie store and ask the saleswoman to accurately measure you with a centimeter.
Step 3. The band should be snug, not too tight
If you are wrong even by a single measure, you will notice it. You may not know that, but there is a big difference between a 34B and a 36B.
Step 4. Don't be stubborn
If all your life you have been convinced that you are wearing a third and now you are wearing a second, do not think that a mistake has been made in the measurements. Rather, try on bras that suit you and you will feel much better. However, if you are not completely convinced (for reasonable reasons, not on a whim!), Please go to another store. Either way, if you've found the perfect fit for you, get used to it.
Step 5. Take your measurements once a year to make sure there have been no major changes
Breasts can change because your body is still growing, because you have gained or lost a lot of weight, or because you are pregnant. Consistently measuring your breasts is a good habit to buy the right bra for you.
Method 2 of 2: Wear a Bra
Step 1. Pass your arms through the gap created by the straps
Traditional bras have two straps that join the cups to the back band.
Step 2. Hook it up
Most bras have one, two or three hooks to join the right and left sides. Many bras can be adjusted to be worn wider or tighter.
- To tighten it, connect the hooks with the hooks furthest away from them, while, to loosen it, connect the hooks with the hooks closest to them.
- Some bras are clipped to the front or side. The front closure usually has only one hook, so it is easy to fix. The side closure can be adjusted like the one on the back.
- Some women find it difficult to attach the bra after putting it on, so they do it before putting it on. If you also have this problem, clip the bra backwards, turn it around, adjust the cups and lift the straps.
Step 3. Once the bra is on, adjust the straps
If they are too wide, they can fall over the arms; if they are too tight, you will feel like you will run out of air, there will be marks on your skin and the cups will be pulled too high. Here's how to adjust them:
- Find the shoulder strap buckles.
- If the bra is too loose, pull the buckles down - they should be at the same height.
- If the bra is too tight, pull the buckles up. Also in this case they must be positioned at the same height.
- If you can't when you wear it, take it off and then put it back on.
Step 4. Once you have put on your bra and adjusted the straps, you should gently pull the straps and the band to make sure they fit properly
Afterwards, you will have to deal with the cups - this is the hardest part. Before you do this, make sure the straps or headband are straight and there are no kinks.
Step 5. Stand up and lean forward:
your back should be approximately 60 cm from the floor. Thus, you will move your breasts in the right direction.
Step 6. If your breasts are already in the cups, stand in front of the mirror to see if you notice any leaking tissue near your armpits
Use the hand on the opposite side for better control. If you find some fabric on the outside, place it in the cup. With the same hand, make sure the cup fits all of your breasts well. Repeat the same procedure on the other side.
- Now you can get up.
- The horizontal underwire that supports the cups should be positioned along the bottom of the breast, keeping it stationary. The breasts should be raised, not sagging.
Step 7. At the end of these steps, you may find that the upper parts of the breasts seem to protrude from the cups:
this is perfectly natural. Use two fingers to smooth them out and fit them into the cups.
Advice
- Try the different types of bras closure, some are easier than others. A single hook is easier to manage than a double one, but it tends to come off more often during certain movements.
- Bras with a front closure can itch or irritate the skin.
