Your Apple ID is an essential part of the iOS and Mac experience as it allows data to be synchronized between all the devices you own. If you've lost your Apple ID or can't remember it anymore, read Step 1 below to get it back.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using a Computer
Step 1. Visit the website called "My Apple ID"
You can access the "My Apple ID" site by typing "appleid.apple.com" in the address bar of your browser.
Step 2. Click on the "Find Your Apple ID" link
The link in question is located under the "Create an Apple ID" button on the right side of the page.
Step 3. Enter the required information
You must enter the first name, last name and email address associated with your Apple ID. You can also optionally enter previously used email addresses.
- When you have completed the form click on "Next".
- The chances of your Apple ID being your current email address are very high.
Step 4. Verify your date of birth
You must enter your date of birth before proceeding further.
Step 5. Choose how to get your Apple ID
You have two options: you can receive your Apple ID by email or you can answer a couple of security questions and view your Apple ID on your browser.
- If you choose the first option, you will receive your Apple ID on your current email address and any other email addresses associated with your account.
- If you choose the second option, you will be asked two questions from the ones you set up when creating your Apple ID.
Step 6. Reset your password
If you have chosen to answer the security questions, your Apple ID will be displayed on the next page. You will be prompted to choose a new password. If you have chosen to get your Apple ID by email you will receive an email with a link to reset your password. The email address you received the message from is your Apple ID.
Method 2 of 2: Using an iOS Device
Step 1. Open the Settings app
You can access it from the home screen of your device. This method works on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
Step 2. Select "iTunes & App Store"
This option is at the beginning of the fifth option group. To find it you have to scroll down.
Step 3. Find your Apple ID
If you have an Apple ID associated with your device, it will appear at the top of the "iTunes & App Store" page.
Step 4. View your Apple ID details
Select your Apple ID and then choose "View Apple ID". Enter your password. A new window will open, allowing you to manage your Apple ID. From here you can change your payment information and your reminders. It is also possible to change the Apple ID associated with your device.
