Contouring is an effective technique for streamlining and defining the face, making it more sculpted. An oblong face provides a very specific type of contouring. To start, use a dark foundation or bronzer to draw strategic contour lines. Then, light up your face with a special product. Blend everything and complete the makeup with a veil of blush.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Drawing the Outline Lines
Step 1. Apply foundation as usual
The application of the foundation should precede the realization of the contouring. Spread a veil to cover any color changes or skin imperfections before continuing.
The base foundation should be the same color as your complexion or at least come as close as possible
Step 2. To start contouring, draw a thin line at the hairline, which allows you to slightly shrink your forehead
To achieve this, apply a bronzer or foundation that is a shade darker than your complexion using a thin brush.
To improve the result, invest in a specific contouring brush
Step 3. Draw a line on the cheekbones, more precisely from the ear to the middle part of the cheek
The line should be exactly below the cheekbone. By highlighting the cheekbone, you will streamline your face.
Step 4. Draw a small vertical line more or less in the center of the chin, then blend it down towards the neck
This allows you to slightly taper the chin.
Part 2 of 3: Apply the Highlighter
Step 1. To highlight the face, take a concealer or highlighter and draw two inverted triangles under the eyes
This trick allows you to brighten your eyes and eliminate dark circles.
- Triangles can be drawn using your fingers or a brush.
- If you have a pen concealer or highlighter, use this product to draw triangles.
Step 2. Draw a line above the cheekbones, right next to the contour line you made earlier
This will make the area stand out even more. Draw a thin line of concealer next to the contour line on each cheekbone. Contrary to what was recommended to be done in the case of the bronzer, it is not necessary to drag the line across the entire cheekbone.
Step 3. Brighten the nose by drawing a line across the bridge
This procedure allows you to thin it slightly, making it appear smaller.
Part 3 of 3: Complete the trick
Step 1. Blend the lines you drew with a beauty blender or similar tool, such as a make-up sponge
It should be slightly wet. Tap it on your face using small, circular motions. For areas like cheeks and forehead, use the rounded edge of the sponge. For areas like the nose, squeeze it between your hands to flatten it while tapping it on the skin to blend the product.
Do not rush. You have to have a little patience to blend the contour lines to make them look natural. Speeding up the procedure can blur them, ruining the makeup
Step 2. Once you have finished blending, fix your makeup
Dip a soft brush in translucent powder or foundation and apply a thin layer of it all over your face gently. This will help keep it intact throughout the day.
Step 3. Apply a thin layer of blush to the knobs with a brush
Putting it only on the roundest area of the cheeks helps to enhance an oblong face even more.
