The Fursona is a representation of oneself in a furry fandom version, an animal with human characteristics. This character can be a kind of alter-ego of yourself or a direct representation of you combined with some animal species. Fursone can also be considered as one's soul, if someone has a personal connection with their furry (furry fandom), and feels that it truly reflects their personality.
Steps
Step 1. Choose the species for your Fursona
Start your search! Try to figure out which animal you like best, or which one you identify with. There are millions of animals to choose from, including reptiles of all kinds, birds (birds and anything with feathers), amphibians, horses, goats, skunks, and thousands of other species! And don't be afraid of the idea of choosing a simple one like a dog or cat. You can also mix animals together, use fictional creatures, or even make your own.
Step 2. Think about the design of your Fursona, such as the color and patches of the fur
It can have a natural look or you can indulge yourself as you please. You can have anything from a simple gray wolf to a turquoise phoenix or a yellow komodo dragon with red stripes and a black tail! Your Fursona can also have tattoos and piercings, parts like fur, feathers, scales, skin of different colors, even more tails if you prefer!
Step 3. Decide on your Fursona's personality, what she likes and dislikes, positive characteristics and even flaws
The idea of creating the perfect "tough guy" is very tempting, but a Fursona with strengths and weaknesses is much more interesting, making it even easier to impersonate.
Step 4. Think about specific details you would like this Fursona to have
Are you wearing any clothes? Do you have anything interesting or noteworthy? Does your person have a feral appearance or is he more anthropomorphic?
Step 5. Think about the name
It could be your own name or you can choose one that you find interesting. Stay away from typical pet names to avoid confusion, since they are the most commonly used. It is always a good idea to do a Google search to find out if there are any Fursone with the same name.

- Thinking about a name can be difficult for some. Start with an adjective that describes your Fursona, and use the dictionary to find a similar word that stimulates your creativity.
- The plantigrade position is that typical of humans, in which the sole of the foot rests entirely on the ground.
- The digitigrade position means that the Fursona's foot resembles that of an animal, where the heel is higher and only the toes and toes touch the ground.
- Sometimes it is difficult to describe the different aspects of a Fursona. You can try to draw these features if you see fit.
- Use colors that suit your personality, or just whatever you like!
- Do not set limits! Your Fursona doesn't have to be a common animal like a dog or a cat, try something different, unusual, maybe even a new species of your own invention!
- There are tons of line art you can use to experiment with colors, just to come up with new ideas.
- Don't be afraid to play any Flash "Animal Maker" on the internet to get more color scheme ideas that you may not have thought of yet!

- Some people are wary of, or prejudiced against, Fursone in the real world. Be prepared for this type of problem. Don't let others ruin your experience!
- Do not identify yourself to the point of confusing the game with reality; remember, you are still a human (maybe).
