So… do you need to customize a perforated line in your scrapbook? Or maybe the pages of your notebook don't tear properly and you want to give them a little help? Here's how to do it.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Manual Method
Step 1. Place your sheet of paper on a Cutting Mat
Step 2. Place a ruler along the line you wish to punch
(If you need to punch a curved line, you can cut out cardboard or use plastic as a "guide".)
Step 3. Press the tip of a large quilt needle through the paper every 1 to 2 millimeters
Method 2 of 4: Make a Tool - Method # 1
Step 1. Get a pizza cutter wheel
Step 2. Make a mark with a marker every 5 degrees or so along the outer edge
Step 3. File or sand the edge between the marker marks using a sander or hand file
Step 4. Leave small spikes / pointed edges every 5 degrees
Step 5. Roll your tool along the line you intend to drill
Method 3 of 4: Make a Tool - Method # 2
Step 1. Get a pizza or pastry wheel cutter
Step 2. Make a mark with a marker every 5 degrees or so along the outer edge
Step 3. Place pins on it following a sunburst pattern, so that the tips protrude from the edge by about 1/2 centimeter
Step 4. Attach the pins to the roller cutter using one of the following methods:
- Super glue (will break when used on any surface thicker than a single layer of cardstock)
- Welding spots (Can last a very long time)
- Masking tape (can be used no more than a few times on fine paper)
