Step 1. Before you reach happiness, you need to ask yourself the following question:
Step 2. Why am I unhappy?
- The reasons could be numerous, from money to an unwanted physical appearance. To help yourself, you need to know the cause of your unhappiness. If in doubt, try writing your thoughts.
- Here are some examples: rainy days, global warming, the loss of your pet, etc. You will most likely be able to spot what is making you unhappy. It may take a few minutes or perhaps a few hours, sometimes even days. Be patient! And remember to get to the bottom! At first you may think you are sad about your goldfish's untimely death, but with a deeper analysis you may realize that it is something much deeper, like the death of your grandmother five years ago. Don't move on to the next step until you are completely sure what the reasons for your unhappiness are.
Step 3. Give yourself a daily compliment
Every morning when you wake up, look in the mirror and smile at yourself with glee as you compliment yourself. It will be much simpler than you can imagine.
- Here are some examples: "I have very white teeth!", "I have fabulous hair!", "This shirt looks great on me!".
- And it doesn't stop there! Compliments can go beyond physical appearance! They can be related to your personality or what you have in life, even if they are small things! The important thing is that whatever compliment is given, it is sincere! Your self-confidence will receive a large boost, thereby increasing your happiness level. You may initially feel embarrassed to do this, but don't stop! Also make sure you have a wide variety of compliments.
Step 4. Accept yourself
Is it really important that you don't have the most beautiful furniture? Or that you can't undergo that cosmetic surgery you have so desired? You don't need these things to be happy. Accept your appearance, your personality, your material objects, etc.
Step 5. Make sure you feel good
Wear what you think is most beautiful. Wear your best perfume, even if someone doesn't like it. Do what makes you happiest. Understand that your own thoughts determine your happiness!
Step 6. Smile
Initially it will be a fake smile, but after a few weeks it will become real. People will love your genuine smile. You will receive constant compliments on this.
Step 7. Praise other people
If you are happy, spread your feeling of joy. Let that lady know that her necklace makes her eyes stand out. Tell that guy his tie is really great. In all likelihood, you will receive further praise for your person in return.
Step 8. Be consistent
It may take some time, but with the right determination you will reach the goal. Remember, it's not about what others think about you, it's about what you think about yourself!

- Don't get obsessed with the little things. Continued stress leads only to sadness. Just relax and enjoy!
- The power of positive thinking is immense. So think positive! You will feel reassured and increase your confidence and self-esteem levels. More importantly, you will be able to relieve stress and relax, which is essential when you want to be more productive.
- Be gentle! Being rude will not make you happy and will expose you to unwelcome judgments.
- Make sure others treat you well. Being treated badly is no fun at all! Stand up for yourself and be sure of yourself.
- Remember to treat yourself well! If you don't take care of your hygiene or your appearance, you can't be happy.
- Just be yourself! Pretending to be someone else can't make you happy.
