The essential oil diffuser makes the environment beneficial and fragrant. For it to work properly, it needs to be cleaned regularly. After each use it is important to rinse it thoroughly; in addition, it should be thoroughly cleaned once a month. In both cases it is essential to proceed meticulously to prevent dirt from accumulating in the speaker and preventing it from functioning properly.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Clean the Diffuser after Use
Step 1. Pour the leftover water down the sink
Empty it from the back to prevent a few drops of water from getting onto the buttons. If they get wet, they may stop working.
Step 2. Clean the speaker inside and out
Pour a few drops of mild dish soap onto a damp cotton cloth, then carefully wipe the inside and outside of the speaker to remove dust and dirt.
You should use a chemical-free dish soap (for example Winni's) as they could damage the diffuser
Step 3. Rinse the diffuser
In this case, simply use a damp cloth to wipe the inner and outer walls of the speaker again. Make sure you remove all detergent residue. At the end, dry it thoroughly in all its parts with a dry cloth.
Step 4. Clean the ultrasonic chip
In the water tank of the diffuser there is a small chip that has the function of creating the ultrasonic wave. If you don't know its exact location, consult the instruction manual. Once identified, clean it using a cotton swab dipped in disinfectant alcohol.
Method 2 of 3: Thoroughly Clean the Diffuser
Step 1. Fill the diffuser reservoir halfway
You can use plain tap water at room temperature.
Step 2. Add ten drops of distilled white vinegar
The white vinegar cleans and disinfects the walls of the tank and is also able to dissolve any residues of essential oils present inside the diffuser. Simply add a dozen drops to the water.
Make sure it's pure vinegar. Do not pour any product that contains chemicals into the diffuser
Step 3. Activate the speaker for 10-15 minutes
Insert the plug into the electrical outlet and turn it on. Let it run for about 10-15 minutes. The vinegar will thus be able to dissolve the residues of essential oils present on the internal walls of the diffuser.
Step 4. Empty the tank
Turn off the speaker and unplug it from the socket. Throw the water and vinegar from the tank down the sink as you normally do after each use.
Step 5. Clean the inside of the speaker
You can use a soft cloth, cotton swab, or small brush to gently scrub the walls of the water tank. Remove all traces of dirt from the walls to prevent it from covering the scented scents of essential oils while the diffuser is in operation.
It also removes dirt from the ultrasonic chip. If oil residues or dust clog it, the appliance may not work properly
Step 6. Clean the speaker on the outside
When you're sure the insides are clean, move on to the outsides. Also in this case you can use a soft cloth, a cotton swab or a small brush; moisten them with water and gently rub the diffuser on the outside to remove dirt, essential oil residues and finger marks.
Make sure that the water does not get on the buttons or under the appliance
Method 3 of 3: Avoid Making the Most Common Mistakes
Step 1. Read the instruction manual carefully before cleaning the speaker
Most appliances can be cleaned using the methods described above, but each speaker is different and yours in particular may require special attention; therefore, carefully read the instructions provided in the user manual.
Step 2. Empty the diffuser of water and oils after each use
The longer they stay inside, the harder it will be to clean the appliance. Whenever you use the diffuser, remember to empty it of water and any leftover essential oils. This will keep it in perfect condition and it will take much less time to clean when needed.
Step 3. Unplug and empty the speaker before cleaning it
Do not start cleaning operations without first disconnecting it from the electricity supply. Unplug it from the socket and then check if it needs to be emptied of water or leftover oils before you start cleaning it.
