Thai fried rice can be served either as a first course or as a side dish with the addition of beef, chicken or other types of meat.
The doses indicated in this article allow you to prepare 2-4 servings.
Ingrediants
- 350 g of pre-cooked rice
- 4 tablespoons of peanut oil
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- ¼ onion (sliced)
- 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
- 1 small tomato (quartered)
- 1 chilli (chopped)
- 4 tablespoons coriander (chopped)
- Salt and white pepper
- 1 lime (quartered)
- ½ cucumber (sliced)
Steps
Step 1. In a bowl, beat the eggs with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
Step 2. Grease a wok with oil, heat it up and pour in the beaten eggs
Stir them as they cook, then move them to one side of the wok.
Step 3. Stir in the garlic, onion, rice and chilli
Add another drizzle of oil and mix all the ingredients in the wok.
Step 4. Add the tomatoes, remaining soy sauce and fish sauce
Keep stirring.
Step 5. Incorporate the chopped coriander just before serving
Step 6. Move the fried rice to a bowl with the help of a spoon
Garnish with cucumber slices and a lime wedge. Lime can also be squeezed onto rice for it to acquire a pungent taste.
Step 7. Enjoy your meal
Advice
- Rice stored in the fridge (for 1 or 2 days) is preferable to freshly cooked rice, as the cold grains do not stick together. This is the perfect consistency for fried rice dishes.
- The most suitable rice for this recipe is the white short grain one.
