This is the recipe for making Shanghai-style fried rice. This dish is an authentic blend of flavors, those that distinguish Asian cuisine, and most likely you have already tasted it in one of the many Chinese restaurants also present in our country. In Italy it is known as Cantonese rice, while abroad it is mainly called fried rice. If you feel like eating some Chinese food, but don't want to leave the house, this is the perfect recipe for you.
Ingrediants
- 1 kg of cooked rice
- 250 g of sausage (possibly Chinese)
- 200 g of fresh peas
- 100 g of lettuce
- 150 g of prawns (you can increase the dose to taste)
- Soy sauce
- White pepper (optional)
- 5 eggs
- 100 g of spring onion
- Garlic
- Onion
- Monosodium glutamate (optional in case of allergies)
- salt
Steps
Step 1. Pour the cooked rice into a large pan to make it cool down faster
Gently mix it with a fork so that it is more grainy and dry.
Step 2. Finely chop the garlic and onion
Step 3. Slice the spring onion
Step 4. Cut the sausage into thin slices
Step 5. Scramble the eggs over high heat
Once ready, cut them into slices.
Step 6. Cut the lettuce into thin strips
Step 7. Heat the oil in a wok
Step 8. When the oil is hot, add the garlic, onion and prawns and let them sauté for a few moments
Step 9. Add the scrambled eggs and mix
Step 10. Now add the peas, lettuce, salt, pepper and possibly the monosodium glutamate to the wok
Step 11. Finally add the soy sauce and spring onion
Stir to evenly distribute the ingredients.
Advice
- Instead of using monosodium glutamate, you can flavor the dish with spices and herbs.
- If you are not allowed to use MSG, try adding a stock cube that does not contain it.
