- 750 ml milk
- 4 large egg yolks, lightly beaten
- 2 tablespoons of soft butter (about 20 g)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 large sliced bananas
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Shell
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 250 ° C
Step 2. Combine flour and salt, then add the butter (or lard) into small pieces and knead the dough until you get a sandy consistency
Step 3. Add the cold water one tablespoon at a time, stirring, until the dough comes off the sides of the bowl
Add a couple of extra tablespoons if needed.
Step 4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface
Roll it out until it forms a circle that is 3-4 cm wider than the diameter of the inverted pan.
Step 5. Put the dough in the pan
Step 6. Cut the edge of the dough so that it advances about 2.5 cm off the edge
Fold the dough inwards and decorate it with the tines of a fork.
Step 7. Pierce the bottom and sides with a fork
Step 8. Cook for 8-10 minutes
Method 2 of 2: Filling
Step 1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a medium skillet
Add the milk little by little.
Step 2. Cook over medium heat until the mixture thickens and boils, this will take about 6 minutes
Then, boil and mix for a minute.
Step 3. Pour half of the mixture over the egg yolks, then return it to the pan and mix well
Boil, stirring constantly for 1 minute, then remove from heat.
Step 4. Add butter and vanilla
Step 5. Place the sliced bananas on the bottom of the shell and pour the mixture over them
Step 6. Allow to cool until completely firmed, or about 2 hours
Step 7. Serve garnished with whipped cream, and some banana slices if you like

- You can also use crackers to make the shell, or you can buy a shortcrust pastry roll at the grocery store.
