This article shows you how to save an image posted on Instagram on your computer or within a mobile device. Although there is no native feature that allows you to download images posted on Instagram using the app or website, there are third-party web services and applications that can save photos to computers or iOS and Android devices.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Using DownloadGram for Desktop Systems
Step 1. Log in to the DownloadGram website
Use the URL https://downloadgram.com/ and the internet browser of your choice. You can use this web service to locally save images posted on Instagram.
Step 2. Log into the Instagram site using a new browser tab
Click the "New Tab" icon on the right of the DownloadGram one, then access the URL https://www.instagram.com/ to view the content of your Instagram wall.
If you are not logged in to your social network account yet, you will need to provide your username and security password before you can continue
Step 3. Locate the image you want to download
Browse the contents on your wall or access the profile of the person who posted the photo you are interested in.
To access a person's user profile directly, click on the Instagram search bar at the top of the page, type the username of the person in question, then select their profile from the drop-down menu that will appear
Step 4. Press the ⋯ button
It is visible in the upper right corner of the box for the image you are interested in. A drop-down menu will appear.
If you have chosen to go directly to the profile of the person who posted the image to download, you will need to select it first
Step 5. Choose the Go to post option
It is one of the options present at the top of the context menu that appeared. You will be redirected directly to the post related to the chosen image.
Step 6. Copy the URL of the image
Click inside the browser address bar at the top of the window, then press the key combination Ctrl + C (on Windows systems) or ⌘ Command + C (on Mac) to copy its contents.
Step 7. Log back into the DownloadGram website tab
Click on the relevant header to view the page content in full screen.
Step 8. Paste the URL you just copied
Click on the search bar in the center of the site's main page, then press the key combination Ctrl + V (on Windows) or ⌘ Command + V (on Mac). The full address of the Instagram post containing the image to be saved should appear within the DownloadGram search bar.
Step 9. Press the Download button
It is gray in color and is visible under the search bar.
Step 10. When prompted, press the Download image button
It is green in color and will appear below the button Download displayed in the previous step. In this way the image published on Instagram will be downloaded to your computer in the default folder used by the browser to save content from the web.
Some internet browsers require you to specify the destination folder and press the button Save or OK before the download is actually performed.
Method 2 of 3: Using InstaGet on the iPhone
Step 1. Download and install the InstaGet app
Access the iPhone App Store by clicking the icon
then follow these instructions:
- Tap the item Search for;
- Select the search bar;
- Type the keywords grabit - tag and view into the search field;
- Push the button Search for;
- Push the button Get placed on the right of the "GrabIt" app;
- When prompted, provide your Apple ID credentials or identify with Touch ID.
Step 2. Launch the InstaGet app
Push the button You open placed next to the name of the application in the App Store or touch the relative icon that appears on the device Home at the end of the installation.
Step 3. Log into your Instagram account
Provide your username and password, then press the button Login.
Step 4. Tap the ☰ icon
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear.
Step 5. Choose the Search item
It is visible in the center of the appeared menu.
Step 6. Tap the search bar
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 7. Provide your username
Type the username of the Instagram profile from which you want to download the image you are interested in, then press the key Search.
Step 8. Tap the account of the user who posted the photo
It should be visible at the top of the results list. The Instagram profile page of the person you are interested in will appear.
Step 9. Locate the image to download
Browse the content posted by the selected person until you find the photo you want to download to iPhone.
Step 10. Press the "Download" button
It features an arrow pointing down and is visible under the chosen image. The arrow will turn blue to indicate that the selected photo is being downloaded to the iPhone.
You may need to press the button to allow InstaGet to save your chosen image to your device OK twice.
Method 3 of 3: Using BatchSave on Android
Step 1. Download and install BatchSave
Log in to Play Store Google by clicking on the relevant icon
then follow these instructions:
- Tap the search bar;
- Type in the batchsave keyword;
- Tap the app icon BatchSave for Instagram;
- Push the button Install;
- When prompted, tap the item Accept.
Step 2. Launch the BatchSave app
Push the button You open located on the right of the BatchSave application image in the Play Store, or tap the BatchSave icon that appeared in the "Applications" panel.
Step 3. Choose the Skip option
It is visible in the lower left corner of the screen. This will skip the tutorial.
Step 4. Log into your Instagram account
Provide your username and password, then press the button Login with Instagram.
Step 5. Open the search field by tapping the icon
It features a magnifying glass and is positioned at the bottom of the screen.
Step 6. Select the "Search for Users" text field
It is visible at the top of the screen.
If the indicated field is not visible, try selecting the tab first Users located in the upper left corner of the screen.
Step 7. Provide your username
Type the username of the Instagram profile from which you want to download the image you are interested in, then press the button Search for User placed below the text field.
Step 8. Tap the account of the user who posted the photo
It should be visible at the top of the results list. The Instagram profile page of the chosen person will be displayed.
Step 9. Locate the image to download
Browse the content posted by the selected person until you find the photo you want to download to your device. Select it to view it in full screen.
Step 10. Press the "Download" button
It has a down arrow and is visible in the lower right corner of the photo. The latter will be downloaded to the device and will be visible in the Android "Gallery".
Advice
- Remember that, as with any other application, even when you use the Instagram one you always have the possibility to take a screenshot of the image you want without having to download a copy on your device.
- The BatchSave app allows you to make a multiple selection of images by simply holding your finger down on a photo until a small check mark appears on it. At this point you will be able to choose all the photos you want and download them locally by pressing the download button, characterized by an arrow and located in the lower right corner of the screen.
