A merkin is a wig created to cover the pubic area of women. It is used as an erotic accessory or as a means of masking the sexual organs. Many actors use it for this purpose on stage or on screen. If you are going to wear a pubic wig, take the time to carefully prep your skin to avoid irritating it.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Hair removal
Step 1. Make an appointment with the beautician to wax
Ask for a Brazilian, meaning complete, wax instead of just removing the hair around the groin. If you need to wear a pubic wig for several days or weeks, you should opt for a wax and not a razor hair removal.
Step 2. Opt to shave the pubic area with the razor
If you only want to wear the pubic wig for 1 or 2 days, you can completely shave the area with the razor. Apply a good hair removal foam and make sure you get a perfect shave.
Step 3. Wait several hours before applying the pubic wig
You will need to give your skin time to reduce inflammation from hair removal.
Part 2 of 3: Test the Glue
Step 1. Purchase your pubic wig
It is commonly composed of a lace covering to which human hair is sewn, or hand-knotted, in order to obtain a look that is as natural as possible. There are also models with fake hair, feathers and bright colors.
Some exclusive wigs can be made with fox fur
Step 2. Read the instructions on the package
See if they suggest using a specific glue.
Step 3. Purchase a glue specially formulated for sensitive skin areas
Perform a specific search.
Do not choose a product that has not been tested on sensitive skin. Protect your skin by purchasing a high quality, albeit expensive, product
Step 4. You can also purchase a solvent to remove the pubic wig safely
This way you won't risk damaging the sensitive skin typical of the area.
As an alternative to the solvent you can use disinfectant alcohol. With this method, more time and attention will be needed
Step 5. Test the glue on a sensitive area of the body
Try it on the inside of the wrist, inner thigh, or upper pubic area a few days in advance. You will reduce the risk of unwanted and dangerous allergic reactions.
Part 3 of 3: Attaching the Pubic Wig
Step 1. Stand naked in front of the mirror
Place the pubic wig over the genital area to simulate its exact placement. If you want to use an eye pencil to outline the exact spot, it will be easier to avoid making mistakes.
Step 2. If necessary, trim the wig following the instructions
Artificial wigs can usually be styled as desired using a sharp pair of scissors. Those in lace, on the other hand, are usually made to measure.
Step 3. Apply the glue following the directions on the package
Unless otherwise noted, use a medium or large natural bristle brush.
Step 4. Focus on the area around the perimeter of the wig
These are the points where it tends to detach. Apply it to the pubis, where most of the pubic hair would normally be.
Step 5. Lay the wig over the area, top to bottom
Flatten the central part and then the side ones.
Step 6. If you want to wear the wig for several days, wash your body as usual, avoiding rubbing it
Step 7. When desired, remove the pubic wig using solvent, or disinfectant alcohol, and cotton balls
Wash the area. Apply a moisturizing oil to clean skin.
