Instead of waking up in the morning with a ringing voice like Mina's, you can find yourself talking like Berry White. You don't realize how much you strained your voice until you can't speak anymore! To avoid making embarrassing signs (you should have gone to sign language school when you had the chance), read on.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Relieve the Throat
Step 1. Drink lots of water
The best thing to soothe the throat is water. There is nothing better than a nice glass of water. Keep it at room temperature to avoid a shock to the vocal cords.
You should drink it like it's a job. Not only does it help you recover your voice, it is good for your entire body, digestive system, skin, weight, energy levels, and just about everything in between
Step 2. Gargle with salt water
Three times a day heat a glass of water in the microwave (until it gets very hot, but not hot) and dissolve a tablespoon of salt. Gargle with all the water you have prepared. Helps against mucus in the throat.
- Don't worry about the taste - you don't have to swallow it. In fact, if your throat burns a little, then you will feel relief.
- Consider drinking honey and lemon tea. There are two opinions regarding this question: some people believe that herbal teas (especially chamomile with honey and lemon) are an excellent substance for the throat. For decades they have been used for this purpose. However, we know that acid is harmful to epithelial tissue (the material that makes up the vocal cords) and both tea and lemon are acidic. What do you think about it?
Step 3. There is nothing wrong with eating honey though
Another common method (although a little less common) is to take a spoonful of honey directly. What a great excuse to be able to make a feast! Next time you can say that for the Nutella spoon.
Work out for five minutes twice a day. Steam increases the moisture in the throat. the same reason you see divas wearing scarves when they're sick - they think the heat is good for the throat
Step 4. Boiling water is an easy way to create steam, but you can also turn on a humidifier
Eat balsamic tablets. Many singers use them, even though their benefit has not been scientifically established. Balsamic candies are considered excellent, but there is no scientific confirmation of their effectiveness. It could be a simple placebo effect
Step 5. While there are no studies that ascertain their benefits, at least they are not harmful
Balsamic candies in general offer some form of temporary relief.
Method 2 of 3: Rest the Throat
Step 1. Let your voice rest if it's hoarse
The best thing you can do is not talk to anyone for a couple of days. It is absolutely the best thing. Vocal rest is needed to repair epithelial tissue. Silence, after all, is golden.
- If you need to communicate with someone, write a note instead of whispering. Whispering can make your vocal cords thump together as loud as if you were screaming.
- If you do a job where you have to raise your voice to be heard, use mechanical means to speak louder.
- Chew gum or suck on candy so you have no choice but to keep your mouth shut. It also helps you improve saliva production.
Step 2. Breathe through your nose
Hopefully, you understood this when they told you not to speak and to keep your mouth shut. How else could you breathe, if not through your nose?
Step 3. Do not take aspirin under any circumstances
If one of the reasons you lost your voice is because you screamed, a capillary has probably broken. Aspirin can reduce clotting and cause bleeding that would hinder the healing process.

Step 4. Don't smoke
Exactly. If you have lived out of this world so far, it is good to know that smoking causes a dry throat as well as billions of other damage to health.
Smoking could be causing your voice to change. After all, the lungs are using smoke to make sound. What do you expect? Quit smoking and you will see immediate improvement
Step 5. Avoid acidic foods
Foods such as tomatoes, chocolate, and citrus fruits are highly acidic, and the acid consumes the tissue of the vocal cords. In order not to be mistaken, it is best to avoid these foods as much as possible.
Spicy foods are not very suitable for your voice. Anything that causes a reaction should be avoided. This is why water is so good for you - it is completely natural
Method 3 of 3: Knowing When to See a Doctor
Step 1. If your voice doesn't come back within 2 to 3 days, see a doctor
If you went a little too wild at a concert last night, it's perfectly normal to lose your voice the next day. But if you lose it for no reason and no other symptoms, it's probably a sign of a bigger problem. Consult your doctor for further guidance.
Step 2. Take care of other matters
If you're battling a severe cold, there's no point in tackling the voice problem - heal your immune system first and your voice will fall into place. If you experience any other symptoms, address those first. You could solve all the other problems.
Step 3. Heal slowly
Even as your voice improves, maintain healthy voice habits. Think about completing a course of antibiotics; even if you feel fine after the first few days, you need to finish the treatment. Continuing all the way will ensure that you are 100% healed and stay healthy.
