We all know the feeling of waking up in the morning, looking in the mirror and seeing inflamed pimples that weren't there the night before. You can decide to leave them alone or follow these tips to heal as quickly as possible.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Treating the Pimple
Step 1. Try sea salt
Mix one teaspoon of sea salt with two teaspoons of warm water. Then use a cotton swab to apply the solution directly to the pimple. Do not rinse. The salt will kill the bacteria, drying out the pimple.
Step 2. Try benzoyl peroxide, which kills bacteria that contribute to acne
Solutions based on this ingredient have different concentrations; those at 2.5% are as effective as those at 5-10% but cause less skin irritation. In addition, it also removes dead cells, making the skin more radiant.
The best effect is achieved during the night
Step 3. Use salicylic acid, which has the same function as benzoyl peroxide and encourages skin renewal
Apply a small amount to the affected areas after washing your face before going to sleep.
Step 4. Try tea tree oil
This is an antibacterial essential oil that you can apply to the pimple with a cotton swab. Be careful not to use a lot of it.
Tea tree oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce pimple size and redness
Step 5. Chop an aspirin tablet and add enough water to make a paste
Apply it to the pimple with a cotton swab, covering it lightly. Let it dry overnight. Aspirin is also anti-inflammatory and makes the blemish less visible.
Step 6. Use astringents on affected areas:
contain antimicrobial agents. There are various types:
- Astringents sold in stores; Choose one that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, but is gentle on the skin.
-
Natural astringents can also be helpful:
- Lemon juice: Citric acid kills acne-causing bacteria. Slice a lemon and rub it gently over the affected area.
- Banana peel: also useful for fighting mosquito bites. Gently rub it on the affected areas.
- Witch hazel: another natural astringent with multiple applications. Choose a toner that does not contain alcohol, apply some to the affected area and let it dry.
- Green tea: an astringent rich in antioxidants, which reduce the signs of aging and fight free radicals. Leave one sachet to infuse and then apply it for a few minutes to the affected area.
Step 7. Use egg oil
This is a very effective remedy for removing pimples and preventing scarring.
- Wash your hands with soap or use a sanitizer before applying the oil.
- Gently massage the oil into the affected area using your fingertips, twice a day until the scar disappears.
- Leave on for about an hour, then rinse with a mild facial cleanser.
Part 2 of 3: Reduce Redness
Step 1. Put ice on the affected area
This should allow you to reduce swelling as it slows blood flow to the area. Apply it directly to the pimple or wrap it in gauze or a towel.
Step 2. Eye drops are also helpful
At least the one that is used to reduce redness in the eyes. Apply it using a cotton swab.
Since the cold helps reduce acne inflammation, leave the cotton swab dipped in the eye drops in the refrigerator for an hour before applying it to the area
Step 3. Try natural antihistamines, available in pills, teas, or topical products
Their function is to reduce swelling on the skin tissue and decrease redness. Here are the most common:
- Nettle. While it may seem odd since bumping it around fields causes skin irritation far beyond simple pimples, some doctors recommend using a refrigerated nettle preparation known for its ability to reduce the amount of histamine that the body produces.
- Coltsfoot is also useful: in Europe it has always been used to treat various skin problems. The leaves can be chopped to make a paste or you can take it in pills.
- Try basil: heat a few leaves with steam and gently apply to the irritated area. It may help to "reassure" your body that it does not need to defend itself against the foreign agent causing the irritation.
Part 3 of 3: Useful Habits
Step 1. Wash your face twice a day and be gentle; do not use dirty pillowcases or towels
- Exfoliate your face once a week to remove dead skin cells.
- Hydrates after washing. The skin is an organ and, like the kidneys, it needs hydration.
Step 2. Don't touch your face, ever
The hands are vehicles of bacteria; the less you tease the imperfections, the sooner you will heal.
Step 3. Exercise:
exercising relieves stress, one of the causes of acne.
- Find a healthy way to relieve stress. Join a team, go to the gym or do gymnastics at home. Your skin will immediately feel better.
- Shower immediately after your workout. Sweating (and if you exercise properly you will sweat a lot) could cause pores to clog up and cause pimples.
Step 4. Reduce your consumption of sweets
Minimize the sugar in your diet to keep your skin looking its best. Sugar can cause increased inflammation and lead to new pimples. Candy, chocolate, and calorie-laden sodas are all foods to be eliminated.
Step 5. Avoid alcohol, which can make acne worse
It dehydrates the body and contains a lot of sugars, which can be linked to the appearance of imperfections. Either way, if you want to be on the safe side, drink less alcohol and notice how your body reacts. Just drink lots of water.
Step 6. Do not squeeze or touch the pimples, or any treatment will be in vain and will make the inflammation worse
Break this habit and you will notice improvements.
Advice
- Chocolate and sugar can increase the presence of pimples, but not for everyone. It is a question of individual sensitivity; some people are lucky enough to be able to consume them, but maybe they are sensitive to some other type of food. The most important thing is to stick to a healthy, balanced diet and notice, if any, which foods are causing the problem.
- Never take a shower immediately after training as it is not good for your skin and clogs pores. Wait at least 30 minutes before washing.
- Wash your face twice a day.
- Sweat can irritate the skin.
