Desktop shortcuts are "shortcuts" to access a certain file located within a folder or disk on your computer. Thanks to the shortcuts, programs can be opened easily with just one click. Once created, it is no longer necessary to access various applications by opening the original location of a file, so they allow you to save precious time. Read on to find out how to create them.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using the Desktop Menu
Step 1. Click on a free space on the desktop with the right mouse button
Select the "New" item from the dialog box.
Another dialog will open. Select the "Connection" item
Step 2. Another window will open prompting you to locate the location of the file you wish to link to
Select "Browse" and search for the location of the file. Once a file is selected, the box will be filled in automatically.
You can also write the address of the file, but it is always better to select the location, as this reduces the chances of making mistakes
Step 3. Click "Next" at the bottom right
Step 4. Specify a name for the link
If another button called "Next" appears at the bottom of the dialog box, click on it, choose the icon you want to use for the link and click "Finish".
Method 2 of 2: Using the File Location
Step 1. Locate the file or the application you want to link to.
Step 2. Click on the file or application with the right mouse button
Make sure you select it before clicking.
Step 3. A dialog box will appear
Select the "Create link" option.
