Don't throw away your old whiteboard. Over time, the surface of whiteboards tends to harden, making them difficult to clean. This tutorial describes the steps required to restore the surface of your whiteboard to making it as good as new - that is, easy to use and clean.
Steps
Step 1. Clean the whiteboard using the supplied eraser
Try to get rid of as much ink as possible, but don't worry about hard-to-clean spots.
Step 2. Clean the surface of the whiteboard using a cleaning product and blotting paper
Step 3. Spray the slate with WD-40 lubricant
Alternatively, apply car protective wax.
Step 4. Clean the whiteboard carefully, then dry it using blotting paper
Step 5. Before using the eraser on your 'new' whiteboard, please clean it with patience
Dry it by dabbing it with a cloth. If necessary, wash it using a damp cloth with which to remove traces of ink. Be careful not to get the eraser wet.
Step 6. Finished
Advice
- If the chalkboard has old ink marks, go over them again using a marker and then wipe them off using the eraser. Any sign will disappear.
- Blackboard cleaning products can be purchased directly from the manufacturer, they are very similar to the products used to polish cars.
- The WD-40 lubricant is able to penetrate the pores of the whiteboard where the ink from the marker is trapped, allowing it to be easily removed.
- If your whiteboard is new, treat it using baby wipes moistened with lanolin, it will last longer.
