Making tea using an American coffee maker is possible and no, it won't spoil it. If you want to make a large amount of tea or herbal tea, and keep it warm for hours, read this useful guide. This method is perfect if you have a cold or flu.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Sachets in the Filter Basket or Carafe
Step 1. Fill the glass jug with water and pour it into the water tank, as you normally do when making coffee
Step 2. Remove and rinse the previously used filter
Step 3. Select a tea or herbal tea to your taste
Return the sachet to the filter. Place the filter, omitting the coffee filter, in its compartment. Also place the carafe and turn on the coffee maker. Alternatively, you can place the sachet directly into the carafe for a stronger, more intense flavor.
Step 4. Wait for the tea to be ready and enjoy it whenever you want
Method 2 of 2: Sachet in the Cup
Step 1. Heat the water with the coffee maker
Pour the water into the tank, turn on the machine and wait for it to come to a boil.
Step 2. Place the sachet in the cup and pour the boiling water into it
Step 3. Leave the sachet to infuse for 3 minutes and enjoy your tea
