Using an e-mail account with Gmail, to date, it is not possible to block e-mails arriving from a particular sender or domain, but it is possible to create a filter that sends e-mails that come from a specific address. Follow the simple steps in this article to create custom spam filters.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Filter Senders Using the Inbox
Step 1. Log into your Gmail account
Find the sender you no longer want to receive e-mails from, as shown in the figure.
Step 2. Select the small down arrow from the search bar
You will find the search bar at the top of the window. A panel for advanced search will appear, make sure that the value 'All messages' appears in the 'Search' field.
Step 3. Type your search criteria
In the 'From' field enter the e-mail address of the sender you want to filter.
To be sure that the search is done correctly, select the blue button represented by a magnifying glass located in the lower right part of the search panel. When the search is complete, re-enter the advanced search panel by selecting the small down arrow from the search bar
Step 4. Select the 'Create filter with this search' link located in the lower right corner of the advanced search panel
A new window will appear containing several actions that can be applied to your search criteria.
Step 5. Select the 'Delete' check button
All messages received by the sender in question will be automatically moved to the trash.
Method 2 of 2: Filter Senders from Open Messages
Step 1. Select the down arrow in the right corner of the email you are viewing
Select the item 'Filter messages of this type'.
Step 2. Verify that the advanced search panel contains the correct search criteria
The 'From' field should contain the email address of the sender of the displayed message.
Step 3. Select the 'Create filter with this search' link located in the lower right corner of the advanced search panel
Step 4. Select the 'Delete' check button
All messages received by the sender in question will be automatically moved to the trash.
