Text symbols help illustrate some things we can't normally express with keyboard typing. There are many text symbols you can use, and you can copy most of them to different applications and programs. Using some methods, you can apply text symbols to your documents or just insert a symbol in a text to send to friends and acquaintances.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Type a Symbol Using Alt Codes
Step 1. Find an Alt code
Look for an alt="Image" code on some reputable sites.
Alt = "Image" code sites have lists of symbols with corresponding Alt codes. Just scroll through the list and find the symbol you want to use
Step 2. Remember the code number
Once you have decided which symbol to use, make a note of the number associated with the symbol. This will be the number you will need to type.
Step 3. Enable the "Num Lock" key
Activate the "Num Lock" key on the keyboard; it is usually located near the numeric keypad at the top right of the keyboard.
Step 4. Enter the code
Click on an empty area of the text, hold down the "Alt" key (for Windows) or the "Option" key (for Mac), and using the numeric keypad, enter the number of the code associated with the symbol. If you release the Alt / Option key, the symbol will appear in the text field.
