Looking at yourself and seeing a huge pimple on your forehead is one of the most unwelcome surprises there is. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to hide it and carry on as if nothing had happened. First you have to make sure to minimize the defect and finally cover it with a concealer. If you are a boy, don't worry, you can use it too. Nowadays there are many men who use cosmetics to hide imperfections: no one will notice.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Shrink Pimples
Step 1. Use a mild cleanser
Do not use astringent or exfoliating products. They shouldn't even contain alcohol. These properties can make the situation worse.
- You shouldn't use a harsh cleanser, but you can choose effective acne-fighting products. Prefer those containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. The former clears the pores, but can also reduce swelling and redness; the second eliminates bacteria and exfoliates the skin.
- Wash your face with warm water and your chosen cleanser. Hot water can dry out the skin.
Step 2. Avoid makeup remover wipes
They typically contain alcohol or other chemicals that are potentially skin irritating. Also, since wipes are more difficult to remove, many people tend to rub them on their face when using them. As a result, they can make the situation worse.
If you have blemishes, use a mild cleanser to remove make-up and rinse your face well
Step 3. Gently exfoliate the affected area
After taking a shower or washing your face in the morning, use a microfiber cloth or towel to lightly exfoliate the pimple. The steam will dissolve the dead cells found on the surface of the blemish, then a gentle exfoliation will remove them.
Step 4. In the evening, moisturize your face after washing it
Use a light cream that is suitable for your skin. You can also apply it in the morning after washing your face, but you should mainly focus on dry areas.
Step 5. Use ice
Wrap an ice cube with a towel. Place it on clean skin for about a minute. If the blemish does not subside, wait five minutes, then apply it for another minute.
Method 2 of 3: Hide Pimples with a Primer
Step 1. Turn on the lights
It is best to have good lighting when putting on makeup, especially when you want to correct a pimple; you have to be able to see it well from every angle. Make sure you have enough light before starting.
Step 2. Choose a primer
It should be applied before the concealer to create the makeup base and make it last longer. Choose a yellow or green one to counteract the redness.
Step 3. Apply primer
Use a concealer brush to dab it on the pimple. Apply just enough to cover the blemish - if it's too much, it will draw attention to the area rather than distract it. Blend it with your finger.
If you don't have a concealer brush, you can also use a cotton swab
Step 4. Apply the concealer
Use one of a similar color to your skin tone. Pat it on the surface of the pimple with the concealer brush. Again, use just enough to cover up the imperfection.
- Before buying a concealer, test it on the back of your hand or under the jaw to make sure the tone matches your skin. A concealer containing emollient ingredients will help you moisturize the epidermis and conceal the pimple at the same time.
- Usually the concealer you use in the winter should have a different consistency than the one you apply in the summer, especially if you like to sunbathe during the summer season. You can mix the two products in spring and autumn.
Step 5. Blend the concealer well onto the skin
Work it gently with your finger until the perimeter blends with the rest of the face.
Step 6. Apply the powder
It helps you fix your makeup and make it last all day. Apply it to the affected area with a puff. Press it gently, without rubbing it.
Method 3 of 3: Hide Pimples with Concealer and Foundation
Step 1. Choose the right concealer
To get a good result, you need a concealer that is exactly the same skin tone. This is necessary for the final makeup layer to be even.
Step 2. Use a concealer brush
Pick up the product with a brush. Press the bristles onto the pimple and twist them to apply the concealer to every single part of the blemish. If necessary, repeat.
Step 3. Blend the concealer with your finger
Focus on the corners to make sure the outside edge is not sharp; it has to blend in with the rest of your skin.
Step 4. Apply foundation
Use one that's perfect for your skin. Apply it all over your face, but not on the pimple - stop at the edges.
Step 5. Apply the powder directly to the pimple
With your finger, pick up a small amount of powder suitable for your complexion and pat it on the affected area. It will help fix the makeup.
Advice
- Try using a liquid patch. You shouldn't use this all the time, but try this method when you need to hide a pimple for an important occasion. Apply the concealer on the liquid patch: the result will be longer lasting as the two products bond firmly.
- After you've finished fixing a pimple, don't touch it, or you risk ruining your makeup.
- Bring a tube of concealer with you so you can do some touch-ups throughout the day.
