People often misunderstand the meaning of worship. Worshiping Jesus Christ has two meanings: this article exposes both of them, as well as explaining the right way to do it.
Steps
Step 1. Dedicate your life to Jesus Christ
Step 2. Find a church
It is important to find a church that is right for you. Not all of them are equally. It is also possible that there is no church nearby that you feel comfortable in. In this case, be patient and keep looking. In the Letter to Hebrews 10:25 we read: "Let us not desert our meetings, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us exhort each other, especially as you see the day of the Lord approaching.". So be patient: given the large number of churches in the world, you will surely find one that works for you.
Step 3. Get a Bible
Many religions refer to books. The Bible is the sacred text of Christianity. By studying the Bible, you can expand your knowledge of God and, in this way, know how to do good works for him and worship him.
Step 4. Spread the good news
Christianity is one of the most popular religions in the world, but as mentioned above, we can still worship God and Christ by spreading the good news.
Be careful about this step. People may think that you want to impose your beliefs on others, and even worse, in some cases they may even be right. As St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach the Gospel at all times and, if it is really necessary, also use words". The best way to spread the word is to act as a Christian. Be nice to others when they treat you badly. This will make it harder for you to find yourself in unhappy situations
Step 5. Receive the commandments of Jesus and act according to his word, because it is a gift that he offered to all his disciples
Step 6. Pray to Christ, and pray a lot
Step 7. Get baptized
Baptism is a public announcement that you are setting aside the "old man" to replace him with the "new man". It is a public profession of faith. Some churches baptize people as infants; some do it in public, others in private.
Step 8. Receive the sacraments
They are the gift that Christ gave us.
Advice
- Finding a church that is a second home to you is a good thing. You must be able to be happy in your church. It should be a place you love!
- As tools of veneration, some confessions use rosaries, read other Christian writings, such as those of the church fathers, use candles lit in a shrine, or burn incense.
- Have a deep reverence for the Blessed Virgin Mary, for she is the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God incarnate. Accept her as your most holy mother.
- The content of the Bible varies from confession to confession. For example, the Catholic Bible contains seven more books in the Old Testament than the Protestant Bible (the King James Version). The Orthodox Bible contains a few more books in the Old Testament than the Catholic one. The New Testament, on the other hand, is the same in all Christian confessions.
