Summer means fun. The sun is shining, the days are getting longer and the beaches are inviting. It is the perfect time to take care of your natural beauty and to have a unique and enviable style. Here's how to do it.
Steps
Step 1. Apply a moderate amount of makeup
The ideal will be to have a natural and sun-kissed look. Let the makeup accentuate your natural beauty rather than divert attention.
- Start by applying a tinted moisturizer or a bronze-colored mineral base. Apply the necessary quantities.
- Apply your favorite blush by patiently blending it from cheekbones to temples.
Step 2. Choose a beautiful colored eyeshadow
- Apply gold or bronze eyeshadow to your mobile lids and then blend it towards the eyebrows. As you move upwards, reduce the amount of product used.
-
Moisturize and protect your lips with a tinted balm and apply a veil of waterproof mascara on the lashes, you are ready to go!
Step 3. Use sunscreen cream whenever possible
Lobster skin is neither glamorous nor healthy. Avoid tanning beds as they can be cancerous. You prefer sunbathing, but remember to apply a protective cream with SPF 15-30 to the skin. (If you have very fair skin, increase the level of protection.) You will still get a nice tan color, avoiding exposing yourself to the risk of skin cancer or to rashes and sunburn.
Step 4. Protect your hair from heat
Abandon the use of straighteners and curling irons and prefer a natural look that will certainly not go unnoticed. Contrary to what you might think, even the natural style of your hair can always be trendy. Embrace your naturalness instead of trying to change it.
- For naturally wavy hair, fill a spray bottle with water and a tablespoon of salt. Wet your hair, in the shower or sink, without combing it. When they are almost completely dry, spray them with the saline solution and ruffle them with your fingers. For best results, move them while upside down. Let them dry naturally.
-
Other very trendy hairstyles are the ballerina bun, a messy ponytail, partially loose braids, or little pigtails twisted around themselves. The important thing is that it looks natural, casual and not too complicated.
Step 5. The shorts are your friends
Wear them often; your legs will thank you. Avoid wearing overly short shorts, you could give the wrong impression. Don't be afraid to wear romantic skirts too. Try a denim mini skirt or go for a high-waisted or ankle-length skirt.
- The most classic colors for shorts are khaki, navy blue and military green.
- If you want to follow the fashion of the moment, also experiment with fun fluo colors (absolutely trendy in recent summers) or pastel.
-
If you don't feel comfortable with shorts, try bermuda shorts or capri pants. Wear only those clothes that make you feel comfortable.
Step 6. Tops and T-shirts
Anything will do as long as it is in good taste. Try a sporty tank top, hippy-style tee, or fitted top. Experiment with lace and flounced fabric as well. High-waisted shirts are particularly cute, but opt for a cut that makes you feel completely comfortable. Try different colors and prints. Floral and tribal motifs are very fashionable at the moment.
Step 7. Enhance your beauty with a dress
You can choose from multiple options, from short and white to long and printed; the possible combinations seem to be infinite.
- Enjoy the summer with light fabrics and bright prints and colors.
- Add personality to your dresses with ruffles, embroidery and metal studs.
-
Make sure your lower back and décolleté are safe from prying eyes, unless you want to attract unwanted attention from guys.
Step 8. Limit the jewelry
Use gold in moderation although it is a perfect color for summer due to its property of attracting and reflecting sunlight. Prefer natural materials such as wood, hemp, eco-leather and suede.
Step 9. Use shoes as accessories
The choices are practically endless. You can opt for fun sneakers or dizzying jeweled sandals. And don't forget the timeless and fascinating flip-flops.
-
In recent years espadrilles (flat or with heels) have made their welcome reappearance, as have the Keds, gladiator sandals and Birkenstocks. Make sure you choose a comfortable pair of shoes, as you'll have to wear them for the entire season!
Step 10. Wear clothes that make you feel good
Summer means relaxation and fun, let your clothes reflect your emotions.
Advice
- Take care of your teeth. Impress the kids with your ultra white teeth.
- Keep fit. No one expects a magical transformation into an America's Next Top Model, but looking good will help you feel good about yourself. Join the local gym where you live, run to the nearest park, or take swimming lessons. Don't expect immediate results, but don't give up. With patience and determination you will reach the finish line.
- Wear sunglasses. Sunglasses give you an instant cool factor and protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. Try a Ray-ban lookalike, or the new cat style. Wear lenses that aren't out of proportion to your face so as not to look ridiculous or overly flashy. The right glasses will allow you not to lose sight of that hunk in the pool without getting noticed.
- Tanned carefully. Always use a 15-30 sunscreen, and don't get more sun than your body desires.
- Remember that these are just suggestions, at the right time wear the clothes you love most and that best make you feel good and at ease with yourself.
- Summer is synonymous with fun! Remember to wear fun colors and prints. You'll look fabulous and grab the attention of that cute lifeguard!
- Try to drink responsibly to prevent your headache from ruining the next day, especially if you only have a few days of vacation at your disposal.
- Wear hats. Protect your hair and face from the sun, nobody likes to have sun damaged hair or a burnt face. Hats are also very trendy, take advantage of it. A wide-brimmed hat or a romantic borsalino in natural fabric will combine protection and style.
Warnings
- Don't wear tacky clothes. You would attract the attention of guys by belittling yourself.
- Don't overdo the makeup; it could run off and turn you into a clown.
