An avocado dessert? It seems unthinkable, but in reality it is not like that at all! In many Asian countries, avocado is used more as a fruit than a vegetable. Thanks to its buttery and creamy texture, this dessert is great as a substitute for ice cream. Remember to always serve it cold.
Ingrediants
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 cup of condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon of lime / lemon juice
- 1-2 teaspoons of chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Steps
Step 1. Prepare the avocados
For easy pulp removal, cut the avocado with a knife until it touches the core. Grab both halves and turn them in opposite directions. Take the top half and set it aside. To remove the core, hit it with the sharp end of the knife blade so that it gets stuck inside. Now rotate the bottom half of the avocado to detach it from the pit.
If you're not going to make dessert right away, don't remove the core and put the other half back in place to prevent it from oxidizing
Step 2. Move the pulp to the bowl
Add lemon juice to keep it from oxidizing. If you want, you can cut the avocado into small pieces or mash it with a fork.
Step 3. Pour the condensed milk over the avocado
Stir or whisk the avocado with the milk until it is evenly coated.
You can add more milk if you wish
Step 4. Let the dessert cool in the fridge or freezer
Avoid freezing it. If this happens, you can recover the initial consistency with the water bath.
Step 5. Serve the dessert
Put the dessert in a small bowl. Garnish with a drizzle of condensed milk and a handful of chocolate chips or chopped nuts. Enjoy your meal!
