Have you ever wanted an endless source of crushed stone? Have you ever been angry because you only needed a piece of rubble to finish your little house? Well, read on and this guide will tell you how to make an infinite crushed stone generator, with or without pistons. Good fun!
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Simple Stone Generator - Without Piston
Step 1. Dig a hole 2 blocks long and 1 block wide
Step 2. Dig a second hole, one block from the first, 1x1 in size
Step 3. In the first hole, dig another block in the space adjacent to the second hole
Step 4. Put some water in the top level of the first hole
The water should now flow to the lowest point.
Step 5. Create a mine between the two holes
Exactly under the block you will destroy and from which you will begin mining, dig a hole 2 blocks long and 1 wide. Position yourself in the mine area.
Step 6. Put 1 lava in the second hole
Step 7. Use the pickaxe on the block located between the water and the lava, and wait for the rubble to form
Use the pickaxe on the crushed stone to take it out. New crushed stone should appear shortly after the first extraction.
Method 2 of 3: Piston-less Stone Generator (Medium Difficulty)
Step 1. Create two pillars 4 blocks high, one block apart
Step 2. Create a square around the top of the pillars
Step 3. Dig a hole two blocks wide
Make it end two blocks lower than the left side of the pillar.
Step 4. Put a water source in the left side of the hole
Step 5. Dig three holes down, starting from the space between the pillars
Step 6. Place a lava source in the middle of the square you created on top of the pillars
Step 7. Destroy the block that separates the water from the lava
Start collecting the crushed stone.
Method 3 of 3: Crushed Stone Generator with Piston
Step 1. Dig a hole, 2 by 2 blocks deep
Put a sticky plunger in it with a glass on it.
Step 2. Create containers for the lava and water
Wait to position them, so as not to run the risk of having to start over; the lava goes to the side near the piston and the glass, while the water goes to the other side. The hole allows the water to flow horizontally towards the lava, creating the rubble.
Step 3. The next step is to use the red stone to find out when a block of crushed stone forms
Add a redstone flashlight and a repeater on one side, and throw some redstone dust on the other. Don't put the crushed stone, it was just to show you how it works.
Step 4. Now let's put the piston into operation
Where the red stone thread is, dig a block towards the water, another block away from the piston, and another from the side towards the lava.
Step 5. Now, place the water first, and then wash it
The generator will work, but it will simply push the blocks up. We add another piston to push them sideways, so that it is easier to extract the crushed stone; you could also add another row of pistons and create a self-repairing wall - however, we won't explain how to do this in this article.
Step 6. Add a repeater to the block on the lava container that is to the right of the first redstone strand you previously placed
The repeater must be set on the first click. Then add the two blocks as seen in the image, connect them and put a piston on them!
Step 7. Now, to prevent it from continuing to do this… Let's add a detector that tells us when the piston pushing to the side can no longer push any more blocks
From the block that has the red stone torch, place 9 red stones on the ground, moving away from the lava, then place a block and put some red stone on it. Place another redstone torch on the GROUND, next to the block where the crushed stone is pushed. This will turn off the first redstone torch and stop the generator. Also, if you do this, you won't have to reset it. When neither piston can push the new crushed stone, it is left there and the circuit remains active until you break the block next to the lava. This way you can simply continue to mine the crushed stone.
Step 8. Finally, add a switch
Go to the block where the first redstone torch is located, and put a switch on its back side. When the switch is off the generator will stay on, and when you turn it on, the generator will stop.
Step 9. The final step:
keep mining the crushed stone until you have enough. Also, try making a few self-repairing walls or bridges. The only limit is the sky, so don't try to build objects taller than 256 blocks.
Advice
- You should do these operations near your spawn point, to be safe in case of an accident, unless you have infinite health or diamond armor in good condition.
- Make sure the crushed stone actually replaces the block when it appears.
Warnings
- Be careful near the lava.
- You have to be quick to put a block when you put the lava.
