Step 1. Decide if it is reasonable to eliminate the distraction
Sometimes some distractions like homework, utility bills, or an urgent phone call from your boss can't be ignored. Make sure that this distraction, pain, or whatever is really something you don't want to think about, or that you don't want to do, and that ignoring it or at least trying it is a healthy choice. Step 2. Find a comfortable seat

Similarly, if you want to distract yourself from a severe stomach ache, you will need to eliminate all traces of junk or unhealthy food from the room.
