LEGO® constructions are among the most classic, fun and intelligent games ever created. Advances in consumer electronics, such as affordable computers, video cameras and digital cameras, have made it possible to produce high-quality Lego animations at minimal expense.
Steps
Step 1. Go to a video sharing website, such as YouTube and search for LEGO movies, for ideas
(Examples: LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Mario, LEGO Batman, etc.)
Step 2. Get all the necessary materials
Step 3. Build and organize the scene, which could only be done with Lego, with a real scenario or by combining the two options
Remember to look through the camera you will be using, to get an idea of what the video will look like. When doing this, check that there are no elements that need to be hidden or disguised, particularly in the background.
Step 4. Next prepare the Lego actors
Since the standard heads of the figures are very static, you may want to get more suitable heads, to give more expressiveness to the actors. If you can't find suitable heads, you can always color them yourself.
Step 5. Position the opening scene of your video and the camera, remembering that it is essential that the camera does not move; otherwise the finished video will be garbled
Use a tripod or something similar to hold the camera steady, then take the photo.
Step 6. Now it's time to move the actors around the stage, but only a little
It is easier to move the character about two steps on the platform or about 1 cm on the floor. Continue until you are done with the film.
Step 7. Use any motion stop application that can make variable fps settings
One that can be configured at 15 fps is better: it will give the best results.
Step 8. Go to iMovie, Windows Movie Maker or another movie maker and import your photos
Step 9. Delete unnecessary photos and put them in the right order
Step 10. Watch the movie using the slideshow setting
Advice
- There are several forums on the net dedicated to how to make films with LEGO. Search LEGO Movies, Brickfilms or LEGO Movies stop motion to find these sites.
- Since Lego has created various categories based on different movies, such as Harry Potter or Star Wars, you can make a Lego version of your favorite movie.

- If you want smooth animation you can use software like Bafran to make a Lego character fly, jump or float.
- If you want an actor to fly, jump and swing with a rope, tie a thread around the body. To jump or fly, use an "invisible" thread. To swing, use a shoe string.
- Another method of making a character jump, fly, or swing is to tilt your scenery so that the characters are on the walls and the floor is on top, if your scene is like a box. Then move the character to the wall.
- Take some time for this hobby. Your work won't be perfect at first, but you will like the results. If you keep trying new things, you will find what works for you and, more importantly, you will have a lot of fun.
