Method 1 of 3: Make Banana Ice Cream with an Ingredient
Step 1. Choose ripe bananas
They should have brown spots on the skin. Peel and set aside.
Step 2. Get 1 or 2 airtight plastic freezer bags
Insert the bananas carefully and leave them in the freezer overnight.
Once frozen, bananas will turn solid
Step 3. Freeze the bananas, take them out of the freezer and remove them from the bags

The ice cream will already be delicious on its own, but you can add other ingredients and work the mixture for a few more seconds to make an even tastier dessert. If you like mint and chocolate ice cream, add a few drops of peppermint oil or extract and a handful of chocolate chips. If you like cherry and vanilla ice cream, add a handful of frozen cherries and a teaspoon of vanilla extract. If you want to make a nutty chocolate ice cream, add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and a handful of dried fruit.
Banana goes great with other flavors. Once you have added other ingredients, their flavor will take over, while the taste of the banana will take a back seat
Method 2 of 3: Make a Milk Free Banana Ice Cream
Step 1. Peel the bananas and cut them into pieces of about 2 cm
Line a tray suitable for the freezer with parchment paper. Spread the banana pieces next to each other in a single layer. Freeze for 2 hours.
You can also use wax paper
Step 2. After 2 hours, put the bananas in a food processor and pulse them for a few seconds
Check the consistency: it must be rough and lumpy, then blend them until you get it.
Make sure you are using the food processor's slicing blade
Step 3. Incorporate the other ingredients
Pour the vanilla and milk into the blender jug. Let the ingredients mix until you get a smooth and creamy consistency, similar to that of ice cream on tap.
It may be necessary to scoop the ingredients from the sides of the jug with a spatula to obtain a homogeneous mixture
Step 4. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container
Collect any residue left on the sides of the bowl with a spatula. Cover the bowl, freeze it for 2-4 hours and serve the ice cream.
Waiting times depend on the consistency you want to achieve. Check the ice cream after 2 hours to see if it has become firm and creamy enough for your taste
Method 3 of 3: Make Banana Ice Cream
Step 1. In a sturdy saucepan, heat the cream and milk mixture over low heat until it reaches a temperature of around 80 ° C
While cooking, add the sugar and salt. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
Step 2. Prepare the cream
Break the eggs into a bowl and beat them well. Then, pour in a spoonful of the hot mixture and whisk it. Pour the eggs into the pot, beating the amalgam constantly. Cook over medium heat until it reaches a temperature of about 70 ° C.
The mixture should become thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon
Step 3. Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool immediately by placing it in a large bowl filled with ice water
Now, stir the mixture for 2 minutes. Add the heavy cream, vanilla, and milk. Wrap the pot in cling film and put it in the fridge. Let it cool for a few hours.
You can also let it cool overnight
Step 4. Make the ice cream
Remove the mixture from the refrigerator. Mash the bananas with a fork and mix with the cream. Take the cylinder of an ice cream maker and fill it about 2/3 full with the mixture. To prepare the ice cream, follow the instructions in the manual. In the meantime, put the remaining mixture in the fridge. When finished, transfer the ice cream from the ice cream maker to a container suitable for the freezer. Repeat the process with the leftover blend. Keep the ice cream in the freezer for 2-4 hours before serving to achieve the desired consistency.
This recipe produces almost 3 liters of ice cream
Step 5. If you don't like cream or can't eat eggs, you can try a variation of this recipe
Blend 4 ripe bananas, 1 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of lime juice, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 2 cups of heavy cream until smooth. Put it in an ice cream maker and prepare the ice cream following the instructions in the manual, then serve it.
