Do you suspect that the new Gucci sunglasses your friend is bragging about are fake? Or do yours seem all too authentic to be true? Those who sell fake Gucci sunglasses don't always add all the details that make them look more authentic. Here is a list of the details that unauthorized resellers forget to include in their forged copies.
Steps
Step 1. Evaluate who you bought them from and where
Some retail stores and Gucci dealers themselves are great places to buy glasses.
If you are buying them online, make sure there is a right of withdrawal, that the seller is trustworthy and has a good rating. A fake pair of glasses may say “auth” instead of “authentic”
Step 2. Check the inside of the glasses
All Gucci glasses are made in Italy by the Safilo Group. In addition, there must be the word CE, after the one “Made in Italy”, which stands for “Conformité Européenne”, ie “European Conformity”.
On the side of the sunglasses there must be written "Made in Italy"
Step 3. Check what they give you with glasses
The following list is general only. Therefore it is not certain that all the things listed are supplied with all sunglasses, also the colors may vary:
- Dark fabric
- Gucci box
- Protective plastic bag of the glasses (with the name of the production group written on it)
- Certificate of authenticity in an envelope
- Warranty
Step 4. Check the inside of the glasses again
After the letters GG (abbreviation for Gucci) there should be:
- Model number (four numbers followed by an "S", which stands for sunglasses)
- Color code (five digits, which could be letters only, numbers only, or both letters and numbers)
- Size
Step 5. Check the label attached to the nose pads (if any)
It should have the Gucci logo on it. Some fake Gucci glasses are not supplied.
Step 6. Check the words and spelling
A fake pair of sunglasses may have the words "inspired by", "like" or simply the name "Gucci" misspelled.
Step 7. Check the price
Gucci sunglasses are known to be very expensive (usually over € 150). It is difficult for an authorized retailer to give you a 20% discount on a pair of Gucci glasses.
Step 8. Do a polarity test
Put on your sunglasses and look at your computer screen from different angles. They are polarized if it gets dark in places.
Step 9. Check your weight
Fake sunglasses are made from cheaper and lighter materials.
Advice
- There is no serial number, so don't waste time looking for it.
- Just because they're dark doesn't mean they're polarized.
- It may happen that there is an error in the production and for this reason they may be non-polarized or without a logo.
