This article explains how to report a user, post, or subreddit who violates Reddit's content policy.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Report a User or Post
Step 1. Visit https://www.reddit.com in a browser
You can use any browser you have installed on your computer (such as Chrome or Safari) to report Reddit content that you find offensive.
If you are not logged in yet, enter the necessary information to log in
Step 2. Open the subreddit that you find offensive
You can search for the title of the subreddit or post by typing it in the search bar and pressing Enter.
Step 3. Click Report under the content you wish to report
A screen will open with the following message: "We are sorry for the inconvenience. How can we help you?".
Step 4. Select a reason and click Next
Choose the reason that best describes the situation.
Step 5. Answer additional questions about the content
The questions vary depending on the reason, but you may be asked to write an additional message or select an option from the menu to better explain the cause.
Step 6. Click Submit
Your complaint will be sent to the Reddit support staff. The employees will intervene if they believe that the content infringes the site's policies.
Method 2 of 2: Report a Subreddit
Step 1. Read the Reddit Content Policy
The site policy, located at https://www.reddit.com/help/contentpolicy, contains the latest version of the Reddit policy. Before reporting an entire subreddit, make sure it actually violates the site's policies. If so, continue with the next step.
Read this method to report a post or user rather than an entire subreddit
Step 2. Visit this page:
www.reddithelp.com/en/submit-request.
Step 3. Click on Send a message to administrators
It's the last option on the list.
Step 4. Click on More
Step 5. Click on Content That Breaks Reddit Rules
Step 6. Select the reason you want to report the subreddit
A list of suggested actions will appear.
Step 7. Review the suggested actions
Each option has its own.
Step 8. Follow the instructions to contact the administrators
Choose one of the following options to complete the reporting process:
- If you have a Reddit account, click on "Please send us a message" to open the form. Fill it out entirely and be sure to include the title of the subreddit. Click on "Submit" when the process is complete.
- If you don't have a Reddit account, write an email to "[email protected]" using your usual email program. Be sure to include the following information: subreddit title, broken rules, and any relevant links that prove your point.
