In this guide we will see how to design and promote your website.
Steps
Step 1. Choose a domain name
There are various tools for choosing a domain name if you can't come up with anything. Take a look at Nameboy.com, makewords.com, you can also find some on eBay. You can determine if a domain name is still available by using websites such as https://www.instantdomainsearch.com/, which can also help you find similar domain names that have not yet been registered.
Step 2. Determine the hosting service you need. Many web hosting companies offer different packages, some free, some not
Free packages usually cater for all the needs of a novice web developer. Some popular web hosting sites offering cheap hosting packages:
- GoDaddy.com
- 1 & 1 Internet Hosting
- HostGator.com
- Hostmonster.com
- BlueHost.com
- DreamHost.com
- and many others
Step 3. Content - Make sure you have a clear idea
Get a notepad and outline the pages of your website and write as much content as you can.
Step 4. If you don't have time to design a site yourself, you could use a template
Some of these templates are very good and also cheap: Freewebtemplates.com and templatesbox.com.
Step 5. Design your website - decide the software you need to design the website
Some software platforms with which to create and manage a website are:
- Frontpage
- Dreamweaver
- NVU
- Bluefish
- Amaya
- Notepad and Notepad ++
Step 6. Text, Graphics and Buttons - Use Adobe Photoshop to generate a header for your website
There are websites that can help you if you are new to Photoshop, which you can use to generate banners and ads, buttons, and whatever else you need. Check out freebuttons.com, buttongenerator.com and flashbuttons.com - you can always use these sites to create banners and buttons for your website.

Step 8. Registration on search engines - Don't forget to register your website on the biggest search engines like Google, Yahoo
MSN, AOL and Ask.com.
Step 9. Each search engine has its own built-in module through which to insert its site into the search engine, including sitemap and child page
Don't forget to report the site to DMOZ and Searchit.com as well.
Step 10. Last but not least, advertising
You could use Yahoo or Google Adwords, setting up a budget and an advertising campaign.
Advice
- When creating the header in Photoshop, be careful not to make it too big, because on small screens it would cover half the screen and the visitor would be able to see only a part of the important elements of your home page, such as text and menus.
- Decide the resolution of the website right from the start. What is the monitor resolution of your target audience? The old websites used a resolution of 800x600, but nowadays, with the increase in the size of the average user monitor, websites are created in 1024 x 769 or 1280x1024 resolution.
Warnings
- Don't steal photos and content from other websites.
- Don't try to defraud Google with your Adsense account.
- Make regular backup copies of your website.
