Sometimes it is enough to simply change. Routine becomes boring over time, habits become monotonous, and even life seems uninteresting. The good news in all of this? Is that you can start changing right now. Just remember one thing: the only person who has to think life is interesting is you. It doesn't matter what you do as long as you like it. Are you ready for new emotions?
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Developing Dynamic Interests
Step 1. Maintain a new hobby
There are hundreds of different things you can do with any type of budget. If you don't have a lot of money, you can just grab a pencil and a sheet of paper and learn how to draw. If you're really short on cash and can't invest anything in hobbies, just go for walks in the countryside or along the river, or try learning HTML or CSS for yourself. If you have some extra cash, take some dance lessons, play an instrument or find a way to get your adrenaline pumping. Other ideas could be scuba diving, swimming, yoga, cooking, archery, cycling and so on; and this is just the tip of the iceberg.
By staying busy with something you like, not only will you feel less bored and therefore happier, but you will become a more interesting person and be able to make new friends. What more do you want: You will have learned a remarkable skill to talk about and show to the world
Step 2. Take an online course
If you have internet access, you can get training. Technology has made incredible strides and leaves no room for excuses. There are many sites that offer free online courses, other sites are from universities that have made the content of some online courses available to everyone. Do a simple search and you will not be short of choices. Not only can they keep you busy, but they allow you to keep your mind active as you broaden your knowledge.
Another advantage of these courses is that you are not required to attend classes. You can browse the different courses or lessons, choose the ones you prefer and you are not forced to follow them to the end. You don't run the risk of being rejected
Step 3. Get involved in an organization you believe in
Have you ever met someone who dedicates his free time to people who are worse off than him? They are probably not many, and if you have known them you will certainly be in awe of them. Why can't you be like them instead? You could volunteer at a hospital, in a shelter, or just take the dogs from the kennel for walks; it would benefit you and the world!
Doing acts of kindness will help you feel better about yourself and the world around you. You would also be surrounded by interesting people who share your passions and who like you want to improve the world
Step 4. Stay active in a non-traditional way
Running is great, going to the gym regularly is great. But wouldn't it be more interesting if you wanted to keep fit with rock climbing, pole dancing or cross-country skiing with a backpack on your back? They are excellent activities for the body, for the soul and make you particularly fascinating. Don't they seem like good ideas to consider?
This is a great way to keep fit and to meet people. Sign up for a sports organization or climbing course. Does it seem too crazy to you? So what do you think of indoor slamball or a riding club? You can find an infinite number of alternatives to have fun and that do not require great skills. You just have to look for them
Step 5. Try doing something you never thought about doing
We all tend to stay in our little world a bit. With the thought we would like to do a lot of things, but then in the end we never take the initiative. Take some time to think about something you've never done and then work hard to try and implement it. Do you want to swim naked? Just do it. Do you want to breed a spider? Just do it. You will be surprised!
They don't have to be scary activities; it might just be going to a country music concert, if that too is something you've never done before. The important thing is to get out of your comfort zone and become a more dynamic person. Only then can you know if you actually like it or not
Step 6. Turn off your computer
Obviously after reading this article. Then analyze how much time you spend on Facebook, Twitter, and any other site that prevents you from doing better things. Think of all the hours you unknowingly waste surfing the internet when you might be doing manual work, talking to a family member, or helping a friend. Always staying at the computer prevents you from having a more interesting life and being a better person, with a thousand resources.
But not wanting to do everything immediately, we always need our habits, at least a little. Start by simply limiting yourself. When you've spent 30 minutes or an hour a day on the sites you frequent, shut down your computer. Move on to reading a book or learning a skill you've been trying to cultivate. You don't have to give up entirely
Part 2 of 3: Maintain a Intense and Exciting Life
Step 1. Rock your routine
You don't have to care if others think you're interesting, it's only important that you think you are. All it takes is a couple of small changes and a different routine. So, try waking up 15 minutes earlier in the morning, have a different breakfast than usual and sit on the porch with a newspaper. One day you decide to go to the cinema. Have sex during your lunch break. You don't necessarily have to do extraordinary things, but simply different from the ordinary.
Try to think of an original thing to do every day. Whether it's taking the alternative route home, cooking yourself a special dinner, or calling a friend you haven't heard from in years, find something unusual. It has to be new to you, not to others
Step 2. Attend local events, such as markets, festivals or music concerts
Choose those meeting opportunities in your area that seem interesting to you and go and visit them. There are always occasions for parties or events, especially in summer, which do not even require special charges. By attending public dating occasions that are not part of your routine, you always keep yourself active and energetic.
To find these events, read newspapers, search for them online, look at flyers on the street and in cafes, and talk to friends and strangers (like the girl who says the announcements into the microphone in your favorite coffee shop). You will also have the opportunity to socialize, which will make you feel doubly dynamic
Step 3. Take a different look at the city you live in
Wherever you go on vacation, the place you are visiting always appears much more interesting than the one where you live. But in reality there is probably not much more to do or see than there is in your city; simply where you live you don't always look carefully and with a "tourist's" eye. Open your eyes; what have you missed so far?
Go to the tourist office in your city and discover the beauties that tourists visit. There may be museums, boat trips, art galleries or places of interest that you have never noticed before or that have never piqued your interest
Step 4. Accept all invitations
If you always find a thousand excuses for not attending meetings because you can't socialize, eventually people will forget about you and stop inviting you. Even if you're not particularly interested in meeting people, or aren't particularly passionate about where you are supposed to go, still give others a chance, and hang out with them just the same. You don't have to accept all the time, it's enough from time to time.
Being with friends gives immediate relief. If in life you are always busy with work, and you only think about that, put aside your sense of responsibility for a day and go out and have fun. You deserve it
Step 5. Do something spontaneous
On Sunday mornings, you probably often find yourself lounging around, watching Facebook, watching TV, or just relaxing (at least, hopefully). Whenever you have a break like this, take the opportunity to do something. Book a night at a local hotel. Have a buffet breakfast. Get in the car and drive freely aimlessly. Try to "surprise yourself".
Make a commitment to keep a day every now and then to dedicate to nothing specific, where you don't want to make plans. When that day comes, do whatever comes to your mind. It could be a movie, a trip to the mountains, or whatever else you want. Just follow your instincts
Step 6. Plan a party or a night out with friends
This way you not only keep busy, but you have a way to think about having a good evening and then you will have something to remember with pleasure. People close to you can also suggest ideas of things you can do.
Try other opportunities too. Are you listening to live music in a club? Offer the guitarist a drink and strike up a conversation with him. Go eat a sandwich with your new soccer mates. Sometimes it is necessary to take the initiative to find new opportunities, it is not always necessary to wait for them
Step 7. Plan a trip
Instead of spending the weekend at home (even if the weekend is always great wherever you are), plan a vacation for even just 2 days. You don't have to take vacation from work and it doesn't have to be expensive - it's enough to go half an hour away where you can spend the whole weekend in a hotel and indulge in room service. The important thing is to go out and have fun!
Is there a place close enough that you always said you wanted to visit but never got to see? Take this as a great chance to cross it off your list. Even if it only takes an afternoon to see it, that's okay. Be a tourist for a while, get away from it all. Give yourself the chance to relax, learn something, and get out of your routine
Part 3 of 3: Feeling good in your shoes
Step 1. Avoid anything that bores you
We often compromise in life for our own good. We do a job that we don't like, but that allows us to pay the bills, we live a relationship that has died out, or in a place where we don't like being. If you realize that you are living an experience that depresses and anguishes you, abandon it. It may be difficult now, but it is much better for your future.
- At times like these, you need to weigh the pros and cons. Can you afford to move or quit your job? Is your relationship just stalled or is it not stable? Make sure you analyze every aspect of the matter before making big-change decisions.
- Can't you avoid them? You can think of some ways to make these aspects more exciting. Ask about a work project, travel more often, or do some crazy new things with your partner. Anything that allows you to change the situation.
Step 2. Tidy up the house
A tidy house is a tidy mind, where you can finally make room for the fun stuff. By doing this you are showing yourself that you are making a change and are trying to improve. Having a clean home also makes you feel good about yourself, helps you be more organized, allows you to invite friends more often without feeling ashamed, and saves you time when looking for things.
Getting rid of all the clutter makes rooms appear brighter and larger, so you'll feel happier and more energetic when you get up in the morning or get home from work. Everyone should feel good at home and this will make it easier for you to tidy up and clean it
Step 3. Stop focusing on the negatives
The next time you are invited to an event or have a project to deliver, don't fill your head with negative thoughts. If you can focus on the positives, you will find that you can appreciate even the smallest things. It's all too easy sometimes to get immersed in negativity, but you'll never be happy if you only see the glass half empty.
If a negative thought makes its way into your mind, immediately replace it with a positive one and you will see that optimism will come naturally over time. For example, if you think: "It's too difficult …", you immediately think: "… but I'll be fine when I've solved it!"
Step 4. You only have to care what you think
The idea that your life is not interesting is nonsense. Everyone has an interesting life in some way, because only you are you and no one else can replace you. Try to focus on what is interesting for you and not for others. If you don't, you can still feel boring and not up to par.
This is why only your definition of interesting matters. If you think that working in 4 different places and not sleeping is interesting, keep it up. If interesting for you means traveling the world, do it. If being interesting means having a lot of different skills, aim for this. Everyone has a different concept and you can only join one
Step 5. Change your diet
When it comes to taste buds, keep two things in mind:
- Eat a good balanced diet. This is good for health, but it is also suitable for the mood. Poor nutrition causes energy slumps that make you feel dizzy and sick. On top of that, if you take good care of your body, you will feel better about yourself, which will give you more confidence and make you feel happy.
- Change. Find some new recipes you want to try. Experience Ethiopian cuisine next Friday. Try new flavors you've never tasted before. Having exciting meals means you can have interesting moments 3 times a day. It's not that bad.
Step 6. Take the time to relax
Whether it's "pampering yourself" a little once a week, taking a hot bath or practicing deep breathing, you need something to try to relax. Everyone needs to find time to relax after a hectic week, to get distracted from work or commitments for at least a couple of hours. Even just 15 minutes with a book, that's fine.
Some people choose activities such as yoga and meditation. Others prefer to be distracted with a video game. There is no right or wrong way to relax as long as it's effective for you. The important thing is that in the end you feel completely "recharged" and ready to get back into action
Step 7. Spend time with happy people
Avoid those who complain constantly and instead try to hang out with people with a good sense of humor and who have a positive outlook on life. You will find that their positivity is contagious. Usually these are people who are always looking for new exciting things to do.
