Spray tanning is safer than sun tanning, and is a good way to get ready for swimsuit and bikini season. In fact, you can get a tanned look in no time and get ready for a big event. To get the perfect tan, however, you have to pay attention to a few things.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Before Tanning
Step 1. Do a scrub
The ideal is to exfoliate the skin the night before, with a water-based scrub, but you can also use a vegetable sponge, a towel or a sugar or salt-based scrub. If the scrub contains essential oils it may be fine, but remember that whatever product you use, it should NOT leave the skin greasy.
Step 2. Arrive early for your appointment with the beautician
Better early than late.
Step 3. Do not wear perfume, deodorant, makeup or jewelry
Step 4. Wear loose, dark clothing and flip flops or slippers when you go to your appointment
Tight clothes can remove the tan.
Step 5. Bring an old costume or plain underwear with you, as the color on them comes off easily
Step 6. Talk to the person who will take care of your tan, and point out any areas where your skin is very dry, or cracked, or damaged by wounds or allergies
Step 7. Decide whether to tan topless or nude
Both are fine.
Step 8. If you have sweated on the way to the beauty center, ask for a dry towel or sheet to absorb the sweat and dry your skin before starting the session
Step 9. Follow the beautician's directions and keep your legs apart and your arms away from your torso
If the arms or thighs touch, you can have clutches that leave "holes" in the tan and make the final result uneven.
Part 2 of 2: After the Tan
Step 1. After the session, let the product dry for at least 10 minutes
After this time, you can put on a bathrobe and enjoy a cold drink and magazine at the salon for another 20 minutes.
Step 2. When it is dry, you can put on your larch and dark clothes and your open shoes
Step 3. It takes 6-8 hours to set the color well, so wait before doing any exercise or activity that would make you sweat too much
Step 4. Keep your hands away from water for 6-8 hours
Use wipes to clean yourself during "tanning" hours.
Step 5. Do not wear heavy clutches or bags and backpacks under your arms and shoulders as they could pull off your tan
Step 6. Stay away from any action that may rub the skin during the first 6-8 hours
This ensures you a perfect result.
Step 7. Delay your shower as much as possible on the day you take the treatment
For the best result, shower the next day.
Step 8. Cover the sofa or bed with a dark cloth during the first few hours to catch any excess color that comes off
Step 9. Relax by watching television or reading for the first 6-8 hours, so the tan sets well and the end result is even
