Everyone likes to wear a new pair of trendy shoes, as long as they don't start to creak. Air Jordan shoes are very fashionable nowadays, in the world of sport and also in the show business. Although they are trendy and comfortable shoes, what many people have discovered is that after wearing them for a while, they start to creak. Instead of putting them aside to avoid embarrassment, here's how to get rid of that annoying creak from your Air Jordans and keep wearing them.
Steps
Step 1. Get your shoes that creak
Remove the insole completely. Jordans generally have a sticky sole, and so you'll have to really go all the way to get it out.
The creak is caused by the air pockets that form under the inner sole of the shoe
Step 2. Take the talcum powder and shake it four times thoroughly in the shoe without the insole
Putting the talcum powder in the shoe will allow you to fill any air pockets that may have formed inside.
Step 3. Distribute the talcum powder throughout the shoe
Shake your shoes vigorously so that it completely covers the insole, from toe to heel. This allows the talcum powder to enter all possible air pockets of the entire sole.
Step 4. Put the sole back into the shoe, on top of the talcum powder layer
This allows the talc to remain inside the air pockets, like a blanket.
Step 5. Put on your shoes and walk for 10 to 15 seconds
As you walk, you put pressure between the sole and the talcum powder. This allows the talcum powder to go deep into the air pockets and stay there, so that they close and the creak disappears completely.
Step 6. Take off your shoes and take out the inner sole
At this point, the air pockets should be evenly filled with talcum powder.
Step 7. Remove excess talcum powder
It is very likely that there is some talcum powder left as less may be enough to fill the air pockets. It is advisable to remove it because being scattered, this will accumulate almost everywhere, risking to make the shoes unbalanced, uncomfortable and annoying.
Step 8. Put the insole back in place
The talcum powder should have filled all the air pockets at this point, making the creak disappear from the shoes. This is the final step whereby your shoes will be completely free of all those annoying creaks.
