The moss stitch is easy and to achieve it you only need basic knowledge: start, work, reverse and close the stitches. The moss stitch stays flat and creates a natural appearance and is more even than the garter stitch.
Steps
Step 1. Start stitches according to your preferences and the width of the piece
You must use an odd number of stitches to successfully make a moss stitch.
Step 2. Work row 1 like this:
Stitch 1, Purl 1. Be careful as you move the ball yarn from the front of the piece to the back and vice versa for each stitch. Continue until you have a stitch remaining on the left side. Work the last stitch.
Step 3. Work row 2 like row 1
Step 4. Work row 3 like this:
Purl 1, Stitch 1. Continue until you have one stitch remaining on the left. Reverse the last point.
