When at the end of the day it seems to you that you have not achieved many results, and you realize that the commitments continue to pile up, it means that it is time to review your daily schedule. This way you can tell if you are spending too much time on one thing while ignoring others.
Steps
Step 1. Take note of all the things you do during the day and how much time you spend on each of them
Step 2. Start from the moment you wake up
Find out how much time you spend in the shower. If that's too long, try to figure out how you can shorten it. Do the same for every task and every chore you do. Take note of the start and end times.
Step 3. How long does it take you to get to work or school?
How many hours or minutes do you spend in front of the television, cleaning the kitchen, or preparing lunch for your children?
Step 4. At the end of the week, look at your list and find out if you have completed all your commitments, or if you have thrown away time, thus not being able to dedicate yourself to the important things
Step 5. Make the necessary changes to accomplish more, or find that you may be simply trying to achieve too much
Step 6. Prioritize or rank your commitments
Try to make small changes at a time, without trying to change everything in a single moment. Maybe start with the simplest things for you, like reducing the time spent in front of the television every day by half an hour or an hour.
Step 7. Making small changes will make it easier for you to add more and find out what you really want to do during the day
Advice
- Don't try to do everything at once; following a daily schedule is a habit that requires practice.
- Making small improvements to your daily routine will encourage you to make bigger changes.
- Strive to do a few things at a time and choose them based on the actual impact they will have on your life rather than the perceived urgency.
- Unexpected things are a part of life, sometimes you just can't do what you want. In such cases, go with the flow.
