Step 1. Choose a container

You can use any container with a lid. Generally, glass jars are used because they are practical for both storing and serving oatmeal.

Step 2. Use your preferred amount of rolled oats

One serving usually requires ½ cup of rolled oats, but you can use more if you want to make a large serving or for several people.

Step 3. Add a proportional amount of milk

If using ½ cup of rolled oats, add ½ cup of milk. You can use cow, almond or any other type of milk.

If you are going to add a large dose of fruit rich in water, you can reduce the amount of the liquid, using about 60-120 ml. Fresh or frozen fruit releases large amounts of water. This step is particularly important for those who want to achieve a thick consistency

Step 4. Incorporate 1 teaspoon of chia or flax seeds

These ingredients improve the nutritional value of oatmeal and ensure a longer lasting feeling of satiety.

Flaked oats can be substituted with 4 tablespoons of chia seeds. The texture of the final product will be similar to tapioca pudding

Step 8. Close the lid tightly

Put the jar in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 5 hours. The oats will absorb the liquid, so they don't need to be cooked.
