Steps
Method 1 of 3: Simple Ground Turkey
Step 1. Heat a pan
Put it on medium heat for at least five minutes to warm it up.
Step 2. Remove the turkey from the pan and pat dry with paper towels
Remove excess moisture on the surface so the meat will brown.
Step 3. Add two tablespoons of olive or vegetable oil to the pan
Step 4. Open the meat by breaking it up and throw it a little at a time into the pan
Leave some space between one piece and the top.
Step 5. Cook
Once the bits are all in the pan, let them go for a while. Don't turn them, don't shake the pan, and don't pick them up with tongs. Leaving them to cook for a few minutes without disturbing them will cause a crust to form.
Step 6. Turn the turkey
After a couple of minutes you will see that the bottom of the meat turns brown. Let it go a little longer then turn the pieces over. Let them darken on the other side as well.
Step 7. Remove from heat
When they are well colored, remove the pan from the heat and place the meat on the absorbent paper.
Step 8. Finished
The turkey is ready to be used in recipes such as chili, lasagna, pasta and so on.
Method 2 of 3: Grilled turkey burger
Step 1. Mix the turkey and spices
Place the turkey in a large bowl. Season with various spices. Use a spoon or your hands to mix. Knead everything for two minutes.
- Experiment with spices if you want to give certain flavors. Add sage, oregano and rosemary for example.
- You can also add 1/2 cup of Parmesan for a stronger flavor.
Step 2. Shape the burgers
Pour about 1/3 cup of the meat into the palm of your hand. Use them both as a press. Arrange the burger on the plate then move on. Continue until the meat is exhausted.
Step 3. Heat a pan with oil
Put it on medium heat. Pour in the oil and let it go for a couple of minutes. Spread the oil by coating the pan so the burgers won't stick.
- You can also cook them in the oven under the grill. Turn on the grill and let the oven warm up before putting them to cook.
- The grill is a great alternative. Heat it to medium-high heat.
Step 4. Cook the meat
Arrange the burgers on a baking sheet. Fill it as much as you can but without them touching. Cook the burgers on one side for 3 minutes or until a dark crust forms. Flip them over and cook on the other side for another 3 minutes. Remove them from the pan and arrange them on a plate.
- Once turned, you can slice some cheese on them. To melt it, cover the pan with a lid.
- Season the meat with additional spices to form a dark crust.
- Don't overcook them or they'll dry out quickly. This meat is low in fat.
Step 5. Serve
Arrange the burgers on the buns and serve them with ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, sliced tomatoes and onions plus any other toppings you like.
Method 3 of 3: Meatballs
Step 1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees
Step 2. Mix the ingredients
Place the meat, species, onion, garlic, tomato paste, egg, and breadcrumbs in a bowl. Mix all the ingredients together with clean hands. Knead everything for a few minutes.
Step 3. Shape the meatballs
Roll them into your hands. Arrange them on a greased sheet of parchment paper. Continue until the meat is exhausted.
- To make the meatballs all the same size, use an ice cream spoon or measure a cup.
- Use a high-sided skillet to prevent the meatballs from rolling out.
Step 4. Cook
Place the parchment paper in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the meatballs are golden brown. Remove from the oven and serve with marinara sauce.
Step 5. Finished
Advice
- Use a heavy skillet that is at least 10 '' in diameter.
- Don't throw in too many meatballs all at once or the meat will get boring instead of turning golden.
- It takes some fat. The very lean ground will become dry and tasteless. Choose an aspect ratio of 85/15 up to 93/7.
- Patience: resist the temptation to turn them!
