The Minecraft PE world generator uses sets of letters and numbers called "seeds" to create the game world. These random seeds create random worlds, but by entering a specific seed you can explore the same world as all other users who have used it. You can find seeds on almost any fan site or forum on Minecraft PE, and thus have endless worlds to explore.
Steps
Step 1. Try to understand what a seed is
In Minecraft, the "seed" is a series of letters and numbers that identify a world created by the game's creation program. It allows all users who use that code to explore the same world, because the generator will create the same result from the same seed.
Step 2. Be aware that version changes affect how the seeds work
Whenever the world generation feature is updated in Minecraft PE, the seeds will act differently than they did previously. This is especially important in newer versions of Minecraft PE, where "infinite" worlds have been introduced. Most sites that host seeds also report which versions they work for.
- The "infinite" worlds are levels that can stretch to infinity and use a different method of creation than the "old" worlds. This means that the seeds for old worlds will produce different results when used to generate an infinite world, and vice versa.
- Infinite worlds were added starting with Minecraft PE version 0.9.0, and are not available in older versions.
Step 3. Find the seeds to use
There are tons of seeds available. Most fan sites on Minecraft have a dedicated section that contains lists of seeds and descriptions of the worlds they generate. Note that if a seed is a word, it does not mean that that word is necessarily related to the created world. A seed called a forest, for example, will not create a world full of forests, and a seed called winter will not give rise to a snowy landscape.
Step 4. Enter a seed when creating a new world
You will be able to insert the seed when creating a new game.
- In the "Create a World" screen, press the "Advanced" button.
- Select "World Type". For newer seeds, select "Infinite" unless the site specifically indexes otherwise. If the "Infinity" option is not available, you will need to use a seed from an "Old" world, because your device does not support infinite worlds.
- Enter the seed in the "Seed" field. Seeds are case-sensitive, so make sure you enter each letter correctly. An uppercase letter in a seed will give rise to a completely different world than a lowercase letter.
- Select the game mode. Seeds work for both Survival and Creative modes, so choose the one you prefer and hit "Create World!".
Step 5. Try some of the following seeds
Here are some seeds collected from the internet. These seeds are all for infinite type worlds. There are literally thousands of others, so give them a try and then go hunting for new seeds!
- 1388582293 - This seed creates a world with a huge network of interconnected villages.
- 3015911 - This seed allows you to start directly on blocks of diamond, iron and redstone, for a great start.
- 1402364920 - This seed creates a unique "Ice Spikes" biome.
- 106854229 - This seed will create a "Mushroom Island" near the creation point, complete with Mushroom Cows.
- 805967637 - This seed will create an anonymous village near the creation point. However, if you jump into the well and break the brick, you will discover a huge underground fortress to explore.
- infinity - This seed creates a forest with interconnected floating islands.
Step 6. Find and share your current world seed
Are you playing a casual game and want to share your wonderful world with your friends? You can find the seed of your saved worlds in the most recent versions of Minecraft PE.
- Go back to the main menu and press the "Play" button. The list of saved worlds will open.
- Press the "Edit" button in the upper right corner.
- Search below for the dimension of the world to share. You will see a series of characters: this is the seed itself. Make sure you include all characters when you share it, including letters and symbols like -.
