This article explains how to join a group on Facebook using the version of the social network for mobile devices or the website. Groups are pages designed for users who share a certain interest, such as sales of items used in a certain city or a particular genre of music. Keep in mind that the only possible way to join a secret group is to be invited by a previously approved member.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Mobile Device
Step 1. Open Facebook on your device
The application icon looks like a white "f" on a dark blue background. If you are already logged in, when you open Facebook you will be able to view the "News Section".
If you are not already logged in, enter your e-mail address (or phone number) and password, then press Log in.
Step 2. Press on the search bar
It is located at the top of the screen. This will activate the keyboard of the device.
Step 3. Type a group name or a keyword
Write the name of a group (or a word or phrase of your interest), then click on Search for. This will search for accounts, pages, places and groups relevant to your search.
Step 4. Click on Groups
This tab is located at the top of the screen, just below the search bar. All the groups related to the search carried out will be displayed.
You may have to scroll the row of tabs to the left to be able to see the option Groups.
Step 5. Click on Join next to a group
The button subscribe it is on the right side of the group name. By clicking on it, a button with the word "Pending" will appear next to the group. Once you have been accepted by an administrator, you will have the opportunity to join the group.
If the group is public rather than private, you will be able to see posts and members, but you will not be able to interact
Method 2 of 2: Desktop
Step 1. Open Facebook by visiting
If you are logged in, the "News Section" will open.
If you are not logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the top right
Step 2. Click on the search bar
This field is at the top of the page.
Step 3. Enter a group name or a keyword
Type the name of the group you wish to join (or a related word or phrase), then click the magnifying glass symbol on the right side of the search bar.
Step 4. Click on Groups
This tab is located at the top right of the results page. All the groups related to the search will be displayed.
Step 5. Click Join group next to the one you are interested in
To the right of each group you will see a button with the inscription Join the group. By clicking on it, a request will be sent to the moderator. Once approved, you can start joining the group.
