Bamboo flutes are obtained from the direct processing of bamboo canes and are a very ancient musical instrument. This tutorial shows the steps required to build a simple bamboo flute.
Steps
Step 1. Get a bamboo stick that is completely hollow inside, from one end to the other
Step 2. Label one end of the bamboo rod with the letter 'A'
Step 3. Now measure a distance of 10 cm from point 'A' and use a marker or pen to mark the point obtained
Step 4. Now measure a distance of 2 cm from the point marked in the previous step and mark this second point as well
Repeat this step until you have 5 stitches spaced 2 cm apart. The last step requires you to mark a sixth point, but at a distance of 3 cm from the previous point (the complete sequence must be as follows: 10 cm, 2 cm, 2 cm, 2 cm, 2 cm, 3 cm).
Step 5. Get a solid iron bar and heat it using a heat source
Step 6. Use the glowing iron bar to open the holes you drew in the previous steps on the bamboo rod
Make a hole at point 'A', slightly wider. To do this, place the hot tip of the iron bar at the precise point and apply constant pressure. The bamboo will start to burn. Continue the process until you get a neat hole.
Repeat this step to open the other 6 holes at the points drawn in the previous steps.
At the end of the process, you will have 7 holes on your bamboo rod.
Advice
If your flute is not making any sound, plug hole 'A' with wax.
Hole 'A' should be slightly larger than the other holes.
To differentiate the tones, use different sized holes.
Making objects with bamboo can be a fun activity; however, you must wait for it to dry before using it. This process is called seasoning. If you leave the reeds (also called culms) to air dry, it takes 6 to 12 weeks; however, there are other ways to treat them properly so that you can do some home projects.

Bamboo is a sturdy plant that grows very quickly. The flute is an instrument with a wonderful sound. However, if you don't clean it properly, it won't keep the same sound for long! Always keep it clean and well cared for so that the sound and brilliance last for a long time. Steps Step 1.
