Some users have achieved a better result by waiting no more than 30 seconds before removing traces of the dry-erase marker.
The color of the dry erase marker does not affect the result, however black on black may perform better than blue on black.
Some people prefer to use disinfectant alcohol or hand sanitizer gel.

Warnings
Do not use a spray cleaning product to remove the marks of a permanent marker. The situation could even get worse.
A product that alters the surface of the board will permanently ruin it. Pencil erasers can be abrasive. Nail polish remover can melt the surface of the chalkboard.
Sometimes it will be impossible to completely get rid of permanent marker marks.
