Inserting a tampon without the applicator is simple, when you know how to do it, and you can do it much faster and easier, if you follow these steps …
Steps
Step 1. Go to the nearest store and choose a pack of tampons that have the right absorbency for your period
Step 2. Go to the bathroom so that nobody disturbs you or hurries you
Step 3. Make sure you have washed your hands and that your vagina is moist
Step 4. Discard the swab and stretch the strap
Throw the wrapper in the trash.
Step 5. Hold the swab the way you like it, but it is advisable to put your index finger on the end and release the strap
Step 6. Stay relaxed as you put the tampon close to the opening of the vagina
If you are too nervous and your hands are shaking, wait a bit until you have acquired calm and confidence, otherwise you risk not inserting it well.
Step 7. Gently push all the way in
If the hand has not yet reached the body, try to shake the pad slightly so that it slides upwards.
Step 8. Slide your finger out of the vagina, leaving the tampon inside
Step 9. Walk, jump, run, dance or sit to make sure you feel comfortable, without having the sensation of its presence inside
If you feel it, insert your finger again and push a little more. Don't worry - the tampon will not get lost or move out of place.
Step 10. Tuck the strap into your panties and wash your hands
Step 11. When you need to remove it, discard it properly
As these kinds of items can cause problems in the waste bin, use a disposal bag and put it in the trash if possible.
Advice
- If you enter it properly, you will not feel any pain. It will all be fine.
- It is best to keep the legs open as much as possible (in order to widen the entrance to the vagina) and, if this is the first time you put a tampon, using a lubricant can help make it easier to insert.
- Relax and keep trying until you are able to put it on. It may take a few tampons before you can insert one correctly!
- Take a few deep breaths before introducing the tampon; it will help you stay relaxed.
- Remember to change it every 6-8 hours.
