This article explains how to find out if a friend has blocked you on Facebook Messenger. Even if Facebook hides this information for privacy reasons, you still have the possibility to understand if your messages are blocked by paying attention to some errors.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Using a Phone or Tablet
Step 1. Open Facebook Messenger
Look for the blue speech bubble icon with a white lightning bolt inside. It should be on the home screen or in the app drawer if you are using Android.
Blocking messages is different from blocking on Facebook. When someone blocks your messages, you remain friends on Facebook and you can view their respective message boards. That person also has the option to remove the block at any time
Step 2. Type your friend's name in the search field
It is located at the top of the screen. A list of names corresponding to what you typed will appear.
Step 3. Press your friend's name in the search results
A chat with that person will open.
Step 4. Write a message in the text field
It is located at the bottom of the chat.
Step 5. Press the button to send the message
It looks like a paper airplane. If you see the message "This person is not available at the moment", the user has blocked your messages, deactivated their Facebook account or blocked you altogether.
If the message is sent without errors, it means that it arrives at its destination. The other may simply not have signed in and not read
Step 6. Find out if a person has deactivated their account or blocked you
If you've received the error message, the last step is to find out if you see something different on their profile in the Facebook app.
- Open Facebook (the blue icon with a white "f" on the home screen), then search for the name of the person you're interested in. If you can't find their profile, they've either deactivated your account or blocked you. If the profile appears normally, it has only blocked your messages.
- If you can't see the profile, there's only one way to find out if you've been blocked at all: ask a mutual friend to view the page of the person you're interested in. If the friend can see it, but you can't, you have been blocked by that user.
Method 2 of 2: Using the Computer
Step 1. Open the Messenger page
You can use the browser of your choice to log into Facebook Messenger on your computer.

Step 2. Log in with your account
If you have already done so, you will see the list of recent conversations. If not, click Continue as (your name) or enter your login credentials when asked.
Step 3. Type the person's name in the search field
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen. As you type, contacts will appear.
Step 4. Click the person's name in the search results
A chat with her will open.
Step 5. Write a message in the text field
It is located in the lower part of the window.
Step 6. Press Enter
If your messages have been blocked, you will see the message "This person is not available at the moment" appear in the chat field (the one you just wrote in). In this case your messages have been blocked, the user has deactivated their Facebook account or blocked you entirely.
