Kickboxing is a martial art that mixes the punch techniques of English boxing and karate kicks. This article explains how to become a better opponent by practicing and repeating your techniques.
Steps
Step 1. Maintain the work ethic
Go to the gym / dojo respecting the times of attendance.
Step 2. Practice your punches
Perfecting your punches means dedicating time exclusively to boxing techniques: training with padded gloves, keeping your chin down, raising your arms and elbows.
Step 3. Do the foot work
Footwork is important for counter moves.
Step 4. Train
Fights and practice are essential for a good workout. You do not do ballet and therefore before a match (3-4 weeks before) train in many fights with a frequency of 2 times a day, 4-5 times a week. You can train a lot with the bag and padded gloves but these things don't hit you, you have to use defense and evasion techniques and learn to counterattack properly based on the opponents.
Step 5. Improve your fitness and physical strength
These are priorities in kickboxing, do weight lifting at least 2-3 times a week and / or swim. It is good to do bodyweight exercises after workouts to relax the muscles and always make time for neck muscle exercises!
Advice
- Lift weights for endurance and strength, not for bulk. Train this way for better results.
- Techniques are always stronger than mass and strength. Never be discouraged.
- Listen to your coach.
- When attacking never hesitate, especially during training fights, always try to knock out the opponent and not waste your energy excessively.
