Persian cats are among the hairiest felines in the world. For this reason they need to be followed by grooming and combing them often. Fortunately, however, thanks to their mild personality, Persian cats like to receive attention and be groomed all the time. To remove the cat's undercoat it is necessary to use a good metal brush in order to thin it to obtain a healthier coat and to make shedding less frequent. This way, your lovely kitty will have a beautiful coat and angelic appearance. Also, remember that Persian cats KNOW they are beautiful and elegant and they pride themselves on it!
Steps
Step 1. Buy a good metal brush (with metal teeth close together)
Step 2. Find a comfortable position for your cat to hold him still while you comb him
Step 3. Now you can start brushing it
Step 4. Comb the cat several times until all the undercoat has been removed
To know when to stop, look at the amount of hair on the brush.
Step 5. When there is almost no hair left on the brush, then the undercoat has been removed
Step 6. At this point the coat will look healthier and just brush again every three weeks to keep it shiny and beautiful
Step 7. Take some small scissors and trim the hair around the anal area to prevent it from sticking to the stool
In Persian cats it often happens that feces remain attached to the anal area which can cause infections. Remember to keep the area clean every three weeks even if you will not brush the animal.
