The snowman is a cute subject for a simple drawing; once you are familiar with the technique (it won't take long to learn), you can improve the work by adding details that make it appear three-dimensional, more colorful or simply more original. This is a perfect design for enriching greeting cards, for craft projects or for creating winter scenes.
Steps
Step 1. Start drawing guidelines by drawing a large circle near the bottom of the paper
Step 2. Make a second circumference of medium size on top of the first, taking care to overlap it slightly
Step 3. Draw a third circle on top of the first two, slightly smaller
You can also draw more than three, but make sure each is smaller in diameter than the circle below.
Step 4. Make a sketch of a carrot for the nose and headbands for the eyes, mouth and buttons
Step 5. Sketch the scarf under the smaller circumference
Draw a top hat-like headdress on the puppet's head.
Step 6. Draw two branches that make up the arms
Finally, trace more snow under the larger circumference to create a snowy terrain.
Step 7. Review the drawing with the final lines and delete those of the draft
Step 8. Color the drawing to make the snowman more realistic
Advice
- Try gluing real objects onto the drawing to get a three-dimensional effect.
- Get a round object, such as the base of a cup; you can use it to trace the perimeter and get the circles you need to draw the puppet. Obviously, you need objects of different sizes, because each circle must be smaller than the one below.
- Don't draw a crooked hat.
