Oenothera (Oenothera biennis) is an American biennial plant. It is considered by some to be a wild plant because it self-inseminates quickly and stabilizes easily. However, when cared for, Oenothera produces wonderful fragrant flowers that open at sunset (to attract moths) and is also a plant used for important medical remedies.
Steps
Step 1. Make sure it is legal and appropriate to plant an Oenothera in your location
Evaluate the environment and biodiversity of the place where you are before adding a plant that extends very easily.
Step 2. Purchase or procure Oenothera seeds
Step 3. Sow in late spring
Choose well-drained, sunny soil. The type of soil is not a problem as long as it drains well. The Oenothera grows in hot, sultry, arid and cold places; it's not too demanding.
Step 4. Cut the seedling to 30 cm
Step 5. Water it properly, don't overdo it
Step 6. Let it grow
The Oenothera "thrives on neglect", so it is quite difficult for it to die from lack of nourishment. The real problem is keeping her under control because she self-inseminates very easily. Be prepared to prune it regularly.
