This simple guide shows you how to find the center of gravity of a triangle.
Steps
Step 1. Measure one side of your triangle
Step 2. Identify and mark the midpoint of the side you measured
Call the point identified A.
Step 3. Draw a line starting from point A and arriving at the opposite vertex of the triangle
Step 4. Identify and mark the midpoint of another side of your triangle
Call the identified point B.
Step 5. Draw a line starting from point B and arriving at the opposite vertex of the triangle
Step 6. The point where the two lines intersect represents the center of gravity of your figure
Method 1 of 1: Use the Coordinates of the Vertices
Step 1. Add together all the X coordinates of the points that identify the vertices of your triangle
Step 2. Add together all the Y coordinates of the points that identify the vertices of your triangle
Step 3. Divide both results by number 3
Step 4. The pair of coordinates you obtained represents the coordinates of the center of gravity of your figure
For example, given the following coordinates of the vertices of the triangle: (3, 5), (4, 1) and (1, 0), the centroid will be the point indicated by the following coordinates (8/3, 2).
