This article explains how to insert a circled number (also called "enclosed alphanumeric") into a Microsoft Word document.
Steps
Step 1. Open Microsoft Word
If you use Windows, click on the menu of the same name, select "Microsoft Office", then "Microsoft Word". If you are using a Mac you should find the Word icon in the dock or launchpad.
Step 2. Click Insert
It is located at the top of the screen.
Step 3. Click on Symbol
This item is located in the panel at the top of the screen, to the right.
Step 4. Click on More Symbols…
Step 5. Click on the "Font" drop-down menu
It is located towards the top of the window.
Step 6. Select Arial Unicode MS
Step 7. Click on the "Subset" drop-down menu
It is located next to the "Font" menu.
Step 8. Select Enclosed Alphanumeric
Step 9. Click on the circled number you wish to add
Step 10. Click Insert
The circled number will appear in the Word document.
