One frustrating aspect of sharing music online is not being able to play the song when we get a recommendation from a friend. Instead, we have to look for the song when it has time, and very often, it ends up on our growing list of music to listen to. Tumblr solves this problem in a fantastic way by allowing you to publish audio posts, so that your friends and those who follow you can listen to the song from your blog. That's how!
Steps
Step 1. Log into your Tumblr account
Step 2. Click the audio icon on your dashboard
You will now have three options to find the song you want to post on your blog.
Method 1 of 3: Method One: Search for the Song
Step 1. Type the name of the song in the search bar
Tumblr has partnered with Spotify and SoundCloud to make some of their music libraries free for your blogs. Simply type the name of the song or artist in the search bar and select the file you want.
All the files you find will be produced by artists who have allowed their music to be played for non-commercial purposes on Spotify or SoundCloud, so you will not be held responsible for copyright infringement. Spotify pays artists a fee for the license to play their music, and artists on SoundCloud can decide how to protect their music when they upload it
Method 2 of 3: Method Two: Publish a URL
Step 1. Click the "Use a URL" link
If you have the Spotify or SoundCloud URL for a particular song, click the "Use a URL" link under the search bar. Then type in the URL.
Step 2. Enter the URL of the song
- The song will be posted to your blog on Tumblr, but it will not be saved on its servers. Therefore, if the Spotify or SoundCloud servers are not available, the song will not be played.
- You should also check if the artists have allowed their Creative Commons licensed works to be used to at least allow non-commercial distribution without modification.
Method 3 of 3: Method Three: Upload the Song
Step 1. Download the.mp3 file of the song
You can buy digital copies of music on many websites.
Make sure the music file is not protected or locked, like the ones you get when you buy songs on iTunes. Tumblr will only publish.mp3 files, so if you have files with different formats, you will need to convert them to.mp3
Step 2. Click the "Upload a file" link
You will find it under the search bar.
Step 3. Select the.mp3 file on your computer
These files will be saved on Tumblr's servers, so you'll need to tick the box stating that you have permission to use them in accordance with Tumblr's Terms of Use
Step 4. Upload the album cover image
If it is not already associated with the audio file, you will be able to upload the cover. Go back to the blog dashboard, and click "edit" on the audio post. Then click on the dashed square with the text "Select cover" to find the-j.webp
If the cover is copyrighted, you may not have permission to publish it. In this case, you can do without or you can upload another image that you remember the song

- Even if you have purchased the mp3, you may not have the legal rights to share the file with others or upload it for them to hear. You may be contacted for copyright infringement if the artist does not want his songs published on the internet. When in doubt, contact the original artist.
